Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest — when I first walked up to Youroom Abruzzi, I wasn’t expecting much from the understated entrance on Via Abruzzi. But here’s the thing about Rome: sometimes the best places don’t need to shout about it. This little gem sits right in the heart of Via Veneto, and I mean *right* in it — you’re literally a two-minute walk from the famous street where Fellini used to hang out at Café de Paris. The location is actually ridiculous in the best way possible. You know how most hotels claim they’re “centrally located” and then you end up schlepping twenty minutes to anywhere decent? Not here. Villa Borghese is across the street (perfect for morning runs, though the Romans will look at you like you’re crazy), and the Spanish Steps are close enough that you’ll probably walk past them without even planning to.
The rooms themselves surprised me — they’ve got this clean, modern thing going on that somehow doesn’t feel cold or corporate. I stayed in one of their standard rooms in October, and honestly, the bed was exactly what you need after walking around Rome all day. The bathroom was compact but well-designed, with one of those rainfall showers that actually works properly. Here’s a detail that matters: the windows have proper soundproofing, which is clutch because Via Veneto can get lively, especially on weekends. The WiFi was solid too, not that sluggish hotel internet that makes you want to throw your phone across the room. What really got me was the little touches — they had these locally-sourced soaps that smelled like bergamot, and the coffee machine in the lobby (available 24/7) made legitimately good espresso. The staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood, not just the tourist traps. When I asked about a good place for cacio e pepe, the guy at the front desk sent me to this tiny place on Via Sicilia that I never would have found otherwise.
The whole experience felt refreshingly low-key for Rome, which can be overwhelming if you’re not used to the chaos. You’re close enough to the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon that you can walk there, but you’re also in a part of the city where actual Romans live and work. I’d grab breakfast at the pasticceria around the corner on Via Boncompagni (their cornetti are ridiculous), then head out exploring knowing I had this calm little base to come back to. The 9.1 rating makes sense — it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Rome, but it nails the things that actually matter when you’re traveling. Clean, comfortable, perfectly positioned, and the staff treats you like a human being rather than a room number. If you’re the type who wants to experience Rome without feeling like you’re staying in a tourist bubble, this place gets it right.

The location is in a lovely neighborhood with lot's of amenities. Near the center, but at the same time peaceful and quiet. Every area in Rome was accessible with the city buses, as there are various bus stops nearby. The staff was very helpful and anytime we needed their help their response was swift and polite.
