Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest with you – YH Suite 131 isn’t going to blow your mind with luxury, but it’s one of those places that just works, you know? Tucked right on Viale Trastevere, you’re basically in the heart of one of Rome’s most authentic neighborhoods without paying those crazy centro storico prices. The building itself is pretty typical for the area – that classic Roman apartment-style setup that’s been converted into suites. Nothing fancy, but clean and functional with that lived-in European feel that actually makes you feel like you’re staying in someone’s well-kept guest room rather than a sterile hotel box.
What really sold me on this place was the location, honestly. You step out the front door and you’re immediately on one of Trastevere’s main drags – which sounds busy, but it’s actually not too bad noise-wise since the windows are decent. Within five minutes walking, you hit all those winding cobblestone streets everyone comes to Trastevere for, with the tiny trattorias and that gorgeous Santa Maria church. But here’s the thing most tourists don’t realize – you’re also super close to the Trastevere train station, which means you can actually get around the city without dealing with the metro chaos all the time. I mean, the 8 tram stops right outside and takes you straight across the river to Largo Argentina. The neighborhood gets pretty lively at night (it’s Trastevere, after all), but by Roman standards it’s manageable – just expect some street chatter until maybe 11 PM on weekends.
The suite itself is… well, it’s exactly what you’d expect from a solid 3-star place. The room I stayed in was surprisingly spacious for Rome, with a little kitchenette area that’s actually useful if you want to grab groceries from the Carrefour down the street. The bathroom was modern enough, good water pressure – always a concern in these older Roman buildings. Staff was pretty straightforward, no fuss but helpful when you need something. Honestly, at this price point in this neighborhood, you’re getting good value. It’s not Instagram-worthy or anything, but it’s comfortable and you’ll sleep well after walking around Rome all day. Plus, you’re staying in actual Trastevere rather than some tourist bubble, which means you get to experience the real rhythm of the neighborhood – morning coffee at the bar downstairs, locals doing their shopping, kids playing in the small piazzas. That’s worth more than fancy amenities, at least in my book.

Reviews
Good but to expensive for what you get – Diego from Costa Rica – 10 May 2025 (8/10)
Big room, nice location
What could be improved: Breakfast is too limited and small, we left early and could it have anything to eat. Price too high for what they offer.Listing photos were extremely misleading but overall the stay was good. – Katherine from United States – 4 May 2025 (8/10)
It was cute
What could be improved: The street was very busy, so the room was noisy, especially at night. The room also looked nothing like the photos in the listing.Lovely place to stay in Trastevere! – Robert from New Zealand – 1 May 2025 (8/10)
Staff are lovely and helpful!Continental breakfast is good!
Very nice – Valeria from Spain – 9 March 2025 (7/10)
The location was very nice and for the price it is really worth it
What could be improved: The heating was really on and we could not find anything to turn it off, we were really hotEasy, convenient, clean, noisy – Rod from United Kingdom – 2 March 2025 (8/10)
Great location and very convenient. Easy admin. Be aware, most of the rooms face Via Trastavere so the sirens and the trams make it noisy. If you're a light sleeper, then try for the one rom at the back of the building.
Nice apartment in safe neighbourhood – Olga from Poland – 21 January 2025 (9/10)
The apartment is located in a nice neighbourhood, close to the historic city center. It’s located on 5th floor, but there is an elevator. We were able to do the self check in without any issues. The room was big, well-equipped and the bed was super comfy. Breakfast was a great addition 🙂
What could be improved: It was quite cold in the room.Very good – Tzvetalina from Bulgaria – 3 November 2024 (8/10)
Perfect location
What could be improved: The air conditioner didn't work and it is also noisy because of the streetGreat location! – Ray from United States – 27 October 2024 (7/10)
We loved the location. Just a short walk to the city center.
What could be improved: The air conditioner in our room was spotty and the shower head fell off the wall.Professional, Personal and Indepemdent, YH Suiyes feels like a home away from home. – Anjali from India – 31 July 2024 (9/10)
It was self sufficient and the self check in was very well managed. The size of the rooms and location was lovely.
What could be improved: There should be a snack machine or access to the pantry built in. I left at 2am and needed a coffee but had only terrible Nescafé and a kettle in the room so didn’t have any since I don’t drink instant coffee. If I had access to the pantry which I could see through the glass I could have made some good coffee before leaving. Also the AC doesn’t cool well. The room is large and needs a more powerful AC. May be fans can be added.Wonderful vacation in Rome – Kelly from United States – 15 July 2024 (9/10)
Very conveniently located
What could be improved: Breakfast included was not great
