Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first turned onto Via Crescenzio looking for VIS ROMAE, I almost missed it entirely. The entrance is tucked into this unassuming courtyard (interno 5, first floor), and you know what? That’s actually perfect. While tourists are shuffling around the main drags getting hassled by street vendors, you’re slipping into what feels like a genuine Roman residential building. The moment you step inside these luxury apartments, though – wow. I mean, the contrast is striking. You go from this quiet, almost sleepy Roman street scene to these seriously well-appointed spaces that somehow manage to feel both elegant and lived-in.

The apartments themselves are spacious in a way that’s rare for Rome, honestly. High ceilings, original architectural details mixed with modern touches that don’t feel forced or showy. The kitchens are actually functional – not those tiny European afterthoughts – and the bathrooms have proper water pressure (trust me, this matters after a long day walking around the city). What really got me was the attention to small details: quality linens that smell like they’ve been properly cared for, lighting that’s warm rather than harsh, and windows that actually block out street noise when you want to sleep in. The Wi-Fi works reliably too, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places in Rome still struggle with this.

Here’s the thing about the location that most travel sites won’t tell you – yes, you’re close to the Vatican, but more importantly, you’re in Prati, which is where actual Romans live and work. There’s this fantastic morning market on Via Andrea Doria (maybe a seven-minute walk?) where you can grab fresh produce and the kind of cheese that’ll ruin grocery store options for you forever. The Metro line A is right there when you need it, but honestly, some of my best discoveries happened just wandering the neighborhood streets. Evening aperitivo at the local bars feels authentic rather than touristy, and the gelato place on Via Cola di Rienzo – well, let’s just say I may have visited more than once. The whole area has this lived-in energy that makes you feel less like a tourist and more like you’re borrowing someone’s beautifully curated Roman life for a few days. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself planning your next trip back before you’ve even checked out.

Lovely apartment, the owner has put every thing in the apartment you need, very close to the Vatican, plenty of shops and restaurants around.

Location was perfect. It is so close to the Vatican and central to all the cafes, restaurants, bus, taxi and in a very safe area. We walked at night and felt so safe. The apartment has keyless security and ample security cameras outside the apartment within the building. The apartment is huge. When you walk into the apartment there is a little hallway, leading into the kitchen and living room. There is a sofa bed that was open with sheets already made with blanket, for us however we closed it to create more space in that area. The bedroom is very spacious with a wardrobe and windows on each side with shutters you can open for fresh air. The views are amazing. The living room has shutters that brings in a cool breeze also. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and a large fridge. It looks new and well maintained. The bathroom is large and functional. There is also an area next to the bathroom where there is a washing machine and access to a clothes horse and an ironing table. We really enjoyed the apartment and felt we had so much space. Should we visit Rome again, we would love to stay at this apartment again.
