Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about the Viminale View Hotel? It’s actually tucked right into this sweet spot where you feel like you’re in authentic Rome, not tourist central. The building sits on Piazza del Viminale – honestly, most people walk right past this little square without realizing they’re steps away from some of the city’s best stuff.
The hotel itself is pretty straightforward, no pretense about being something it’s not. Three stars, sure, but the kind of three stars that actually delivers on what matters. I mean, the rooms are clean and comfortable (the beds are honestly better than some four-star places I’ve stayed), and here’s the thing – you can actually hear the city waking up from your window, but it’s not the crazy traffic noise you get near the main tourist drags. It’s more like… real Roman life happening below. The staff at check-in knew their stuff too, gave me directions to a little enoteca around the corner that I never would’ve found otherwise.
What really gets me about this place is the location – and I don’t mean that in the generic “convenient location” way everyone always says. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Termini Station, which sounds chaotic but actually means you can hop on the metro or catch a train to anywhere without dealing with taxis or buses. But here’s the better part: walk the other direction and you’re in Monti, which is honestly one of the few neighborhoods in central Rome that still feels like Romans actually live there. Via del Boschetto has these tiny shops and cafes where you’ll hear more Italian than English, and the whole area has this sort of village-y feel even though you’re in the middle of a massive city. Plus – and this is key if you’re planning to do the whole Colosseum-Forum thing – it’s maybe a fifteen-minute walk through some really pretty streets instead of cramming onto the metro with everyone else.
The hotel’s got that slightly worn-in European feel that I actually prefer over the super polished chain places. The lobby’s small but welcoming, and there’s something about the way the light hits the old building in the afternoon that just works. Parking’s tricky like everywhere in Rome, but honestly, you don’t need a car here anyway. The 8.4 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it nails the basics and puts you where you want to be without breaking the bank. If you’re the type who wants to experience Rome more like a temporary resident than a tourist checking boxes, this little spot really delivers on that feeling.

Walkable from train station and most tourist sights – Clifford from Canada – 4 June 2025 (9/10)
Great location spacious room comfortable bed decent breakfast
Great value for money – Whitney from Australia – 2 June 2025 (9/10)
The room was incredibly modern and very spacious. Very clean and we had daily housekeeping which was amazing. Daily breakfast was on offer and staff were lovely. Easy to access and felt safe.
What could be improved: The wifi was abit weak, would work but also cut out intermittently. Location for approx 25min walk 2km+ from major sites. This wouldn’t stop me from staying here again though, it was a very comfortable stay and excellent value for money. What the room falls short of ..it’s makes up in location and things to entertain you . – Maria from Canada – 20 May 2025 (9/10)
The location is ideal close to all the major attractions and you can walk to everything. Great restaurants close by.
What could be improved: Room was a little small and nothing fancy.Great location, good value. – Hannah from Canada – 11 April 2025 (9/10)
Great location, friendly staff, clean, good breakfast & service! Small rooms (typical for Rome) but perfect for what we needed – to explore Rome and rest our heads at the end of the day, and have breakfast before exploring again . We had our 9 month old baby with us and it worked!
Lovely stay – Albmig from United Kingdom – 10 April 2025 (9/10)
Perfect location
Superb – Gediminas from Lithuania – 5 April 2025 (9/10)
Good location and view. Friendly staff.
What could be improved: A little bit noisy from the street. Very simple breakfast.Small but perfectly formed. – Stephanie from United Kingdom – 24 March 2025 (7/10)
Ideal location, close to Termini station with several restaurants and a mini supermarket nearby.
Very comfortable bed.
Loved the old fashioned lift that took us up to the hotel location on the 3rd floor.
What could be improved: Hotel was not well signposted so hard to find.
Room was small but it didn't really matter.
Only tiny rolls and bread for toast, not yummy fresh bread.Great value for money for a short touristic visit in Rome. – Katrin from Belgium – 13 March 2025 (9/10)
Good location, and good room with all the necessary included
What could be improved: Not much – all OK.Very good – Geraldine from Ireland – 16 February 2025 (8/10)
Comfortable bed, clean room, and location. Good value for money and continental breakfast was fair.
What could be improved: Needs to replace the toaster as only one side worked.Suurepärase asukohaga hubane hotell. – Kadi from Estonia – 10 February 2025 (8/10)
The location is great, with all the main attractions within walking distance, and the Vatican easily accessible by metro. There is a ministry building across the street from the hotel, which means 24/7 police surveillance and we felt very safe there. The room itself is small, but that's what they have in most hotels in Rome. The bed was comfortable and the room cosy. The room was cleaned every day and we were happy with the level of cleanliness. As our visit was during the winter it was a positive that the room was warm. It should be noted that the bathroom and toilet are basically connected to the room and do not offer privacy, so if you need privacy, this is not the hotel to book.
What could be improved: The soundproofing is almost non-existent, so if someone is walking or talking in the corridor, it feels as if someone is next to your bed. Earplugs are necessary.
