The Colosseum is literally a 10-minute walk away (hence the name), but here’s what’s better: you can walk to Cavour metro station in about 5 minutes, which honestly saves you so much time getting around the city. And if you’re into the whole aperitivo scene, Via del Boschetto is right there with some seriously good wine bars that haven’t been completely overrun yet.

The hotel itself feels like someone actually thought about what travelers need. The rooms aren’t huge – I mean, this is Rome, not Texas – but they’re smart about the space. Good air conditioning (crucial in summer, trust me), decent Wi-Fi that doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and the beds are actually comfortable, not those weird European mattresses that feel like sleeping on a board. The staff genuinely seems to care about helping you figure out the city, not just checking you in and disappearing. I had this one guy at reception who drew me a little map showing which streets to take to avoid the crowds when walking to the Forum – that’s the kind of local knowledge you can’t Google. The breakfast is solid too, nothing fancy but real coffee and pastries that don’t taste like cardboard. One small thing that bugged me was the elevator – it’s tiny and slow, typical for these older Roman buildings, so if you’re on the fourth floor with heavy luggage, well, consider it part of the authentic experience. But honestly, for a 4-star place with a 9.2 rating, you’re getting what you pay for. The neighborhood alone makes it worth it – you’re close enough to hit all the major sites without feeling like you’re trapped in a tourist bubble, and there’s something really nice about coming “home” to a street where you recognize the shopkeepers after a few days.
