Rome can be overwhelming, but this area strikes the perfect balance. Villa Pamphilj park is literally around the corner, and I mean that — it’s maybe a three-minute walk to one of the city’s most beautiful green spaces. The Vatican is close enough that you could walk there (though honestly, I’d grab the metro), and you’ve got real Roman life happening around you. Local cafes, actual grocery stores, people walking their dogs — it’s the Rome that locals live in.

The Space Itself

The studio setup works brilliantly, especially if you’re planning to stay more than a couple nights. There’s a proper kitchenette that’s actually functional — not just a mini-fridge and a prayer. I made coffee every morning and even managed a simple pasta dinner one evening, which felt wonderfully normal after days of tourist restaurants. The space feels bigger than typical Roman accommodations, and everything’s been thoughtfully arranged. The bed’s comfortable, there’s decent storage, and the bathroom’s modern without being flashy.

Getting Around

Transportation from here is actually brilliant once you figure it out. The Baldo degli Ubaldi metro station is about a ten-minute walk, and from there you’re connected to the whole city. What I really appreciated was having parking available — if you’re brave enough to drive in Rome (I wasn’t, but I saw other guests who were). The neighborhood has that lived-in quality where you can grab groceries, find a decent restaurant that’s not aimed at tourists, and generally feel like you’re experiencing real Roman life rather than just visiting it.
