Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Vatican 23 Museum Suites? It’s actually tucked away on this quiet residential street in Prati, which honestly feels like a completely different world from the tourist chaos around St. Peter’s. Via Tacito runs parallel to the main drag, so you get all the convenience of being ridiculously close to the Vatican Museums (I mean, it’s literally a 5-minute walk) without the constant stream of tour groups marching past your window at 7 AM.
The suites themselves are pretty impressive – they’ve got this modern, apartment-style setup that makes you feel less like you’re staying in a hotel and more like you’ve got a friend’s place in Rome. The kitchenettes are actually functional (rare for hotel “kitchenettes,” trust me), and the living areas have enough space that you’re not tripping over your suitcase every time you turn around. What I really appreciated was the attention to soundproofing – Prati can get lively in the evenings with locals heading to dinner, but once you’re inside, it’s surprisingly peaceful. The bathrooms are generous too, with proper counter space for all your stuff, which becomes crucial when you’re doing that whole “trying to look presentable after walking 20,000 steps through Rome” thing.
Here’s the thing about the location that most people don’t realize until they’re there – you’re positioned perfectly between two different versions of Rome. Walk five minutes toward the river and you’re in full-on Vatican mode with all the pilgrims and the souvenir shops selling pope keychains. But head the other direction into the heart of Prati, and you’re suddenly in this elegant residential neighborhood where actual Romans live and work. There’s this fantastic alimentari right around the corner on Via Cola di Rienzo where you can grab proper Italian groceries, and honestly, some of the best gelato I had in Rome was from a tiny place just two streets over that definitely doesn’t make it into the guidebooks. The Metro’s close enough to be useful (Ottaviano stop is maybe 8 minutes on foot), but you’ll probably find yourself walking everywhere because the Tiber and Castel Sant’Angelo are right there, and once you cross the river, you’re basically in the centro storico. Even getting to Trastevere is just a pleasant 20-minute stroll along the riverbank. The staff seems to actually know the neighborhood too – they pointed me toward this little trattoria where I had one of those “how is this not completely packed with tourists” meals. With a 9.4 rating, I was expecting it to be good, but the combination of the location, the space, and that feeling of staying somewhere that Romans might actually choose for visiting relatives? That’s what makes it worth booking.

Top location – within walking distance of famous historical sites, quiet lovely neighborhood with many dining and shopping options. Near the bus stop, metro station and bus shuttle to the airport. Clean room, clean, big and comfortable bathroom. Both hosts Maurizio and Federico were just wonderful, very kind and helpful.

Location was fantastic, a train stop away from Vatican City (walkable too!) and 5-10mins walk to city center. Metro station was nearby. Supermarkets, restaurants, pharmacies are everywhere here. A good residential area that felt safe for families. Room was clean and host was helpful and responsive! Aircon/heater and bathroom plumbing works well too. Room is as presented in photos.

P from United Kingdom (10/10)
The room is spotlessly clean, has the basics, is centrally located with lots of shops and nice restaurants nearby. It's a short walk from the Vatican and Trevi fountain. The host was amazing. Prompt in his response, friendly and gave excellent tips on places to visit (little gems that are not the regular tourist hotshots) and places to eat. There's a little coffee machine as well.

Location and cleanliness
Yuvarajan from Sweden (10/10)
The rooms are spacious, clean and closer to the shopping street with lots of restaurants around.. The location is very near to the SIT shuttle bus plus it's about a km to Vatican City. Our host was really helpful in terms of guiding the restaurants and transport. Highly recommended.
