You know what surprised me about this place? It’s actually in one of those Roman neighborhoods where real people live – not just tourists dragging suitcases around. The Vatican City Apartment sits on Viale degli Ammiragli in Trionfale, which honestly sounds way fancier than it is. I mean, it’s a nice area, but it’s got that authentic Roman residential vibe where you’ll see locals walking their dogs and picking up groceries at the corner market.

The location is pretty brilliant when you think about it. You’re close enough to Vatican City that you can walk there in about fifteen minutes (maybe twenty if you’re the type who stops to take photos of every fountain), but far enough away that you’re not dealing with tour groups at 7 AM. The neighborhood actually has character – there’s this little bakery about three blocks down that makes these incredible cornetti, and the locals seem genuinely friendly rather than tourist-weary. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle, like everywhere in Rome, but the area isn’t as chaotic as the historic center. I noticed the apartment building itself is well-maintained, which you can’t always count on in Rome – sometimes these residential places can be a bit… well, let’s just say character-building.

What really impressed me was how the space feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a typical hotel room. The setup is thoughtful in ways that make you realize someone actually lives in Rome and knows what travelers need. The 9.5 rating makes sense once you’re there – it’s not flashy or Instagram-perfect, but everything works properly (the Wi-Fi is solid, the hot water doesn’t run out, the air conditioning actually cools things down). The streets around here get pleasantly quiet in the evenings, which is gold if you’re trying to recover from walking around the city all day. Plus, you’re positioned perfectly for exploring both Vatican City and the more residential parts of Rome that most tourists never see. There’s something satisfying about taking the metro from Ottaviano station in the morning and feeling like you’re commuting rather than just bouncing between tourist sites. Honestly, if you want to experience Rome without feeling like you’re living in a guidebook, this spot hits that sweet spot between convenient and authentic.

  Very good location. Apartment is located near the metro station which makes it accessible very easily. Apartment was neat and clean.

  The host was extremely helpful in making sure you are comfortable throughout your stay. The location was great and is walking distance to a lot of shops and restaurant. The rooms are huge and the beds are very comfortable, although the shower is abit small. Everything needed is provided, especially body soaps, hand soaps and lots of mirrors throughout the apartment.

  The location of this apartment was perfect, short walk to multiple metro lines, a grocery store on the bottom floor of the building, and plenty of bars and food within a 5 minute walking distance.
