Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Tre R Colosseo? It’s tucked away on Via Nicola Salvi in this absolutely charming corner of Monti that feels like you’ve stumbled into a secret. I mean, most tourists are rushing around the main drags, but here you’re on this quiet residential street where you can actually hear yourself think – well, except for the occasional Vespa puttering by, which honestly just adds to the Roman charm.

The thing about this place is that it gets the balance right between being polished and feeling authentic. The rooms have this modern comfort without trying too hard to be trendy, if that makes sense. Actually, what I loved most was how the staff seemed to genuinely know the neighborhood – not just the obvious tourist spots but the little things that matter. Like, they’ll tell you that the best coffee is at the bar two blocks down (not the one on the corner that looks fancier), or that Tuesday mornings are perfect for walking to the Colosseum because the cruise ship crowds haven’t arrived yet. The location is honestly perfect for exploring on foot – you’re about a ten-minute walk from the Colosseum, but you’re not dealing with the chaos of staying right next to it. Monti has this village-y feel that’s become pretty popular with Romans themselves, which tells you something.

I have to say, the 9.2 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there. It’s not flashy or trying to impress you with marble everything, but the details work. The beds are actually comfortable (you know how hotel beds can be a gamble), the shower pressure is solid, and – this might sound small but it matters – the air conditioning works properly, which in a Roman summer is basically essential. The breakfast setup is straightforward but good quality, and they don’t make you feel rushed. What really won me over was how quiet it gets at night despite being in the city center. The street doesn’t get much through traffic, so you can sleep with the windows open when the weather’s nice and just hear the normal sounds of Roman life settling down for the evening. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I wanted to feel like I was actually staying in Rome rather than just visiting it.

Tre R Colosseo is a lovely place to stay that is literally and directly across from the Coliseum! Location is exceptional and near the Monti neighborhood which has many excellent and authentic small restaurants with fabulous food and drinks! Great contact with the owners that not only keep you informed about your stay, but answer questions and give great restaurant recommendations! For accessing the doors to the property, both keys and codes are provided with thorough directions to find the property. My daughters and I loved staying here! Highly recommend!

The location is excellent, the rooms are excellent. Everything in Rome on your doorstep, so close to all the sights and some absolutely brilliant restaurants recommended by our host. If you have not seen the Colosseum before. Just step outside the front door. 50m away. See pics

We liked our room and it is really good located. We loved that the metro, bus is near and we could walk a lot in the heart of Rome. We came back every day to a nicely cleaned and prepared room.

  • Schwarz from United States (10/10)

The location was excellent. It was across the street from the Colosseum and within walking distance of many tourist attractions. It had a water kettle and refrigerator.

  • Sprig from United Kingdom (9/10)

Love LOVED the location. We had a triple room. It was spacious and airy. Bathroom was of a very decent size to. Stepping out of property restaurants either side facing the Colosseum one has a licence until 2am. Both spots perfect for people watching as it’s always got people coming to take photos with the Colosseum in the background.

Location!!! Wow..view of the coloessum from the bedroom window. The metro is right beside the bnb. We bought a 48-hour ticket. 25 euro for both of us. It's so worth it. Everything is so close. One, two stops away.

Simona sent a WhatsApp with loads of information and recommendations that's were absolutely fab. Very easy find. Just walk.. it amazing what you come across.

    Fantastic place. Would highly recommend.
