Trastevere San Calisto 3 BDR Apartment Overview

You know what caught me off guard about this place? It’s actually on Piazza San Calisto itself – not some side street claiming to be “near” it. I mean, when you step out the door, you’re literally looking at the little church and that fountain where locals fill up their water bottles. The apartment sits right in the thick of things, but honestly, it’s the good kind of thick. Trastevere has this way of being buzzing with energy without feeling touristy, if that makes sense. Well, during the day anyway.

The three-bedroom setup is pretty generous for Rome standards – I’ve stayed in places here where you could barely swing a cat, but this one actually lets you spread out. The kitchen’s legit too, not just some token mini-fridge situation. Which is perfect because there’s this incredible alimentari just around the corner on Via San Francesco a Ripa where you can grab fresh mozzarella and those tomatoes that actually taste like something. The owners clearly know their stuff because everything works (shocking for an Italian rental, honestly) and there’s decent Wi-Fi throughout. Only minor gripe is that the street-facing bedroom can get a bit noisy – Trastevere doesn’t exactly quiet down early, especially on weekends when the whole neighborhood turns into one big outdoor party.

But here’s the thing that really sold me on this spot: the location is ridiculously walkable to everything that matters. You’re maybe ten minutes from Campo de’ Fiori if you cut through the back streets, five minutes to Santa Maria in Trastevere (which, by the way, is absolutely worth seeing at night when it’s all lit up), and honestly, you can walk to the Vatican in about twenty minutes if you don’t mind crossing the river. The 8 tram stops right at the edge of the neighborhood too, so you’re not stuck if your feet give out. What I love most though is how it feels like staying in an actual Roman neighborhood – you’ll hear the same shopkeepers chatting every morning, smell fresh bread from the panetteria down the street, and you know those tiny old ladies who somehow always know everyone’s business? Yeah, they’ll start recognizing you by day three. It’s that kind of place where you feel less like a tourist and more like you’re just temporarily living someone else’s life in Rome.

Reviews of Trastevere San Calisto 3 BDR Apartment

  • Perfect location to enjoy Trastevere – David from United Kingdom – 1 November 2024 (9/10)

The location is unbeatable. It’s a real treat to be right in the heart of the action in Trastevere but with the peace of an apartment at the back of an inner courtyard. Everything you could want to eat or drink is a few steps from the door and it’s only a 5 minute walk across the Tiber to the heart of the city. Plenty of space with 3 equal size bedrooms and a big common area.

What could be improved: Amenities are all as expected but some of the decor is a little tired and could do with a bit of a refresh.

  • A wonderful weekend stay in Rome. Great location and would return. – Samantha from United Kingdom – 26 February 2024 (8/10)

Fantastic location in the centre of Trastevere. Clean and accommodated 5 friends comfortably. Great managing staff.

What could be improved: Could do with hooks to hang wet towels on.

  • Very good – Ian from Australia – 2 October 2023 (8/10)

We were not expecting the fabulous range of restaurants, bars and cafes in the surrounding area.

  • Overall very good – Michele from Australia – 24 July 2023 (8/10)

Spacious, beds were very good, air con in most rooms. Both bathrooms great. Loved having a washing machine. Location fabulous.

What could be improved: One room upstairs did not have air conditioning and was uncomfortably warm. There was a fan, and we did try putting another fan up there, but the power points on one side of the room did not work.
The lights all shorted at one point and we had to sort it out via the fuse box.
Also, would have been great if coffee pods were supplied.

  • AMAZING!!!! – Anissa from Belgium – 14 May 2025 (10/10)

Perfect Location, space in the house, isolation with no noise being heard inside.

What could be improved: Just some curtains in the rooms would be nice to have more darkness during the nights.

  • The place to be pour visiter Rome – Sébastien from France – 13 May 2024 (8/10)

– Gulmira from Kazakhstan – 9 June 2024 (7/10)

What could be improved: Нет тапочек и туалетных принадлежностей! На 4 ночи совсем мало шампуня 🫤 вентиляторы не рабочие. И дверь душевой вообще не закрывается! Диван в ужасном состоянии. Расположение хорошее

  • Good – Brunella from Italy – 13 April 2024 (7/10)

  • Fin beliggenhed. Meget spartansk. Og husk viskestykker og karklud 😉 – Kirstine from Denmark – 17 February 2024 (6/10)

Beliggenhed midt i Trastevere.

What could be improved: Køkkenet var meget sparsomt udrustet.

  • Pleasant – Luciano from Italy – 14 November 2023 (6/10)

    La colazione non era prevista
    La posizione ottima

What could be improved: Mancanza totale di arredi e suppellettili
    Appoggi e appendi asciugamani inesistenti
