Trastevere Royal Suite Trilussa Overview
So you know how Trastevere can be absolutely mental on weekend nights with all the bars and crowds? Well, this place sits right where the chaos meets the calm – literally on the river side of things, which means you get all the neighborhood character without feeling like you’re sleeping in a nightclub. I actually stumbled across the Trastevere Royal Suite Trilussa last spring when my usual spot was booked, and honestly, it ended up being one of those happy accidents that makes you rethink your entire Rome routine.
The location is pretty brilliant if you ask me. You’re on Lungotevere Raffaello Sanzio, which sounds fancy but it’s basically the street that runs along the Tiber – and that matters because you get river views from some rooms and you’re literally a two-minute walk from Ponte Sisto. I mean, cross that bridge and you’re in Centro Storico, but step back into the narrow streets behind the hotel and you’re in proper Trastevere with all those little osterie where locals actually eat. The suites themselves are surprisingly spacious (hence the name, I guess), and they’ve got this sort of modern Roman thing going on – clean lines but with enough character that you don’t feel like you’re in a business hotel. What I really appreciated was the attention to sound – the windows actually block out the street noise, which is crucial because even on the “quiet” side of Trastevere, you’ve still got Vespas buzzing around at all hours.
Here’s what sold me though: the staff genuinely knows the neighborhood. Not just the tourist spots, but like, they’ll tell you which gelateria has the best pistachio (it’s not the famous one everyone queues for), or that the morning market in Piazza San Cosimato is worth getting up for – especially on Mondays when it’s mostly locals. Check-in was smooth, none of that waiting around nonsense, and they sorted out a parking situation for me even though I hadn’t booked it ahead. You know what’s funny? For a 4-star place, it doesn’t feel stuffy at all. It’s got that Roman thing where everything works well but nobody’s trying too hard to impress you. The 8.7 rating makes sense to me – it’s the kind of place that does what it promises without any drama, and in a city where hotels can be hit or miss, that’s actually pretty refreshing. If you’re planning to spend your days wandering around Rome (which, let’s be honest, you should), this gives you a solid base that feels like you’re staying in a real neighborhood rather than some tourist bubble.

The location of the property in Trastevere was amazing.30 second walk from the piazza and within a minute you are in the gorgeous little lanes where all the restaurants/bars are.
The room size was great, nice and big and the bathroom wa da great size aswell. We were early for check in but we left our luggage there and went out exploring.the staff were friendly and we had easy access in/out of the building.
The day of check out we got to keep our luggage there so we could go out and explore alittle more.

The room was amazing! Very pretty and a lot of space and everything we needed including heating and great air conditioning! The staff was very nice and responsive and the building felt secure! Location is amazing, close to all the restaurants and cool shops and also very close to a taxi station! Definitely recommend this room!!
What could be improved: The only little thing is its on the main street so its a bit noisy mainly only on the weekends but if you close the rolling curtain its not that loud, it was definitely worth the location and the room.Exceptional – Brian from United States – 2 February 2025 (10/10)

Fantastic location that is within easy walking distance of the main sites. There are a range of excellent food options nearby and the hotel elevator is a beautiful heritage treat upon entry. As a solo traveller, I felt very safe in the building as it has great security and Ray was very thorough in advising more about the safety of Rome.
Superb – Chris from Australia – 29 October 2024 (9/10)
Lovely room, very beautifully decorated with a modern bathroom. The location was very central
What could be improved: Noisey at night due to the location adjacent to restaurants and bars.We could hear bands and music playing until about 2am each night.
