Hotel Description

I’ll be honest – when I first saw “Trastevere Luxury Rooms” on Viale di Trastevere, I was a bit skeptical. The main drag through Trastevere can be pretty hectic with all the trams rumbling by, and you know how sometimes these places with “luxury” in the name try too hard? But stepping inside completely changed my perspective. The owners have actually done something really smart here – they’ve taken this classic Roman building and created these beautifully appointed rooms that feel like staying in an upscale friend’s apartment rather than a typical hotel. The whole vibe is sophisticated without being stuffy, and honestly, that 9.7 rating makes total sense once you’ve experienced it.

What really impressed me is how they’ve managed to balance the authentic Trastevere experience with genuine comfort. The rooms themselves are spacious by Roman standards (and trust me, that matters when you’re dealing with luggage and trying to get ready for dinner), with these gorgeous original details mixed in with modern touches that actually work. The bathrooms are particularly well done – marble everywhere but not in that cold, intimidating way. And here’s something most people don’t think about until they’re dealing with it: the air conditioning is absolutely top-notch, which is crucial during those brutal Roman summers. I mean, you can actually sleep at night, which isn’t always a given in historic buildings.

The location is where this place really shines, though. Being right on Viale di Trastevere means you’re literally steps from everything that makes this neighborhood special – those narrow cobblestone streets with the incredible restaurants (definitely hit up Da Enzo if you can get a table), the nightlife scene around Piazza di Santa Maria, and honestly, some of the best people-watching in Rome. But here’s the insider tip: you’re also perfectly positioned to walk across Ponte Garibaldi to get to the centro storico without dealing with the tourist crowds that mob the other bridges. It’s maybe a 15-minute stroll to the Pantheon, but you get to come home to this quieter, more authentic side of the river. The tram stop is right there too, which is perfect for those days when your feet are completely done with cobblestones. One small thing to note – rooms facing the street can get a bit of noise from early morning traffic, but it’s nothing terrible and honestly becomes part of the Roman soundtrack after a day or two. What you’re getting here is a genuinely elevated experience in one of Rome’s most charming neighborhoods, run by people who clearly understand what travelers actually want.

Reviews

  • Exceptional – Taylor from South Africa – 30 June 2025 (10/10)

Awesome property. Very clean, modern, in a nice part of the city. Amazing hosts—complimentary bottles of wine and snacks were a great touch!

What could be improved: I liked everything.

  • Superb – Nick from United Kingdom – 18 June 2025 (9/10)

Very conveniently located by Trastavere with great links to Colosseum and central Rome via the tram. Staff were really helpful with late check in and they even do a free breakfast (although we chose to gorge on pasta and pizza instead).

  • Exceptional – Rebecca from United Kingdom – 16 June 2025 (10/10)

    Francesco was a perfect host
Rooms had everything you needed and more

  • Comfortable, clean & Well-located – Amina from Belgium – 15 June 2025 (9/10)

Very clean, convenient location (tram closeby to get to historic centre of Rome or 30 min walking distance + close to train station to get to the airport), 10min to Trastevere centre. Hospitality: welcome snacks, great communication with host. New towels and toilet paper every day.

What could be improved: Only a minor thing: the lights of the ceiling in the room were very intense. The room was not completely dark because the lights were still visible even when they were not switched on.

  • The best place – Alsu from Russia – 7 June 2025 (10/10)

The best place I could imagine. Everything is made with care on people. Coffee machine, breakfast, full fridge with some drinks, wine as a present, even hair straightener in the room.

What could be improved: Everything was perfect

  • Luxury INDEED! – Sonja from United States – 31 May 2025 (10/10)

I loved everything about our accommodations… Francesco took care of everything from stocked snacks & drinks in the fridge to toothbrushes and house slippers. The room was very modern and clean! Bathroom shower was big enough for 2 with 2 rain shower heads! 2 blocks away from the middle of Trasverte … and bus/tram run right in front of property. Best room in our 7 day trip in Europe

What could be improved: Loved everything!

  • Exceptional – Martijn from Netherlands – 29 May 2025 (10/10)

Everything, location, room, breakfast, the service of Francesco

  • Exceptional – Mihai from Romania – 22 May 2025 (10/10)

Very good location, close to some of Rome’s most beautiful places. Eazy to reach the historical center with 2-3 bus lines(although it may get really crowded on rush hours, it’s not bad). Staff very reaponsive and welcoming. I’d recommend this stay for being best cost/service!
