Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of Roman hotels, and TrastEver Holiday actually gets it right in ways that surprised me. The moment you walk through the door on Via Luigi Santini, you realize someone here understands that travelers want authentic Trastevere without sacrificing comfort. The lobby has this lived-in elegance – not the sterile marble you see everywhere else, but warm wood and local artwork that doesn’t scream “tourist hotel.” What really sold me was chatting with the front desk guy who recommended this tiny osteria around the corner that I never would’ve found otherwise. You know what I mean? When staff actually live in the neighborhood and aren’t just reciting rehearsed scripts about “must-see attractions.”
The rooms are honestly well-thought-out, especially for Rome where you’re often choosing between character and functionality. Here you get both – the AC actually works (crucial in summer, trust me), the beds are properly comfortable, and the bathrooms have decent water pressure. But here’s the thing about staying in Trastevere that nobody mentions: it gets lively at night. Like, really lively. The hotel’s position on Santini means you’re close enough to walk to Santa Maria in Trastevere in three minutes, but far enough from the main piazza that you’re not dealing with the worst of the evening crowds. I could hear some street life, but it felt more like authentic Roman atmosphere than annoying noise – though light sleepers might want to pack earplugs just in case.
What I really appreciate is how the place works with the neighborhood instead of trying to be separate from it. The morning coffee setup includes beans from a local roaster, and they’ve got partnerships with a few family-run restaurants where you can get decent discounts. It’s these small touches that make you feel like you’re experiencing Rome rather than just visiting it. The staff seems to actually know the area – they directed me to the best gelato spot (not the touristy one everyone talks about, but the one where locals actually go) and helped me figure out the most efficient way to get to the Vatican without dealing with the metro chaos. Honestly, for a four-star place, the 8.5 rating makes sense. It’s not trying to be the fanciest hotel in Rome, but it nails what most travelers actually want: a comfortable base in one of the city’s most atmospheric neighborhoods, run by people who care about your experience beyond just checking you in and out.

Lovely stay. Giacomo, Federico and Vittoria were always eager to help! – Jessica from Costa Rica – 2 July 2025 (10/10)
Excellent location with comfortable and clean room. The shared common space was routinely cleaned and stocked up with tea, coffee and honey.
What could be improved: Would have been helpful to have a small oven or something to heat food up. Regardless you can always walk down the street for a quick snack.fabulous !!!!I will be back within six months and definitely stay there again. Thinking of relocating from America I hav – Deborah from United States – 18 May 2025 (9/10)
Very clean and well-maintained, also they actually had a Lyft. Owner walked down to pick me up where I was accidentally dropped off by a taxi. He rates up above and beyond
We loved our stay and would definitely stay again! – Katherine from United States – 1 May 2025 (9/10)
Apartment was great, very clean and had great amenities. We really liked the location in Trastevere- close to a bakery and park for our son. Beds were comfortable and hosts were lovely. Lots of amenities in the common room that we didn't end up using, but it was nice that they were available
What could be improved: Pillows were very firm, some noise from outside at night. Slight smell of a litter box near one of the doors- not sure why or if the apartment is pet friendly, but maybe from a previous guest?highly recommended. nice location in Trastevere – Magdalena from Poland – 12 April 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: Nothing!Roman holiday – Jodie from Australia – 8 September 2024 (9/10)
Stayed in one of 3 rooms at this accommodation. Easy self check-in with full instruction and photos provided. Note, there is a one person and luggage size lift to level 5, but still a few stairs to negotiate with luggage to access lift and room once reaching the floor, but totally manageable. The coffee machine and in pods the common area is a bonus. My room faced internal area of bulding so was quiet. The shower works well and was much needed after 30 hours of travel! Federico allowed me to store luggage all day after my check out. Great location. Restaurants close by and accessible by foot to all Rome attractions.
What could be improved: There is a door stopper behind the door, near the bed, that I stubbed my toe on (maybe broke it) twice. I put a shoe over it to cover after the 2nd time.Superb – Josephine from Australia – 7 September 2024 (9/10)
Good location and Giacomo was super helpful.
What could be improved: Nothing
