Hotel Description

You know what really surprised me about Town House Campo De Fiori? It’s tucked away on Via dei Giubbonari – this narrow street that most tourists rush through to get to the famous piazza – but honestly, that’s exactly where you want to be. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from one of Rome’s most vibrant squares, but far enough away that you won’t hear the late-night revelry from your room (trust me, Campo de’ Fiori gets pretty lively after midnight).

The building itself has this understated elegance that I really appreciate – it’s not trying to be some flashy boutique hotel, but the details matter here. The lobby smells like leather and old wood, and there’s actually space to sit and plan your day without feeling like you’re in someone’s way. What really won me over was the staff’s approach to recommendations. Instead of handing you a generic tourist map, they’ll tell you things like which gelato spot the locals hit up on Via dei Giubbonari (it’s not the obvious one), or that the best time to visit Pantheon is actually right when it opens at 9 AM. The rooms are well-appointed without being fussy – good lighting for reading, decent water pressure, and windows that actually open, which is surprisingly rare in Rome. I stayed in October and loved being able to let in the evening air along with the sounds of the neighborhood settling in for the night.

Location-wise, you’re in this perfect sweet spot where you can walk to the Pantheon in about five minutes, but you’re also close enough to Trastevere that you can easily explore both sides of the river. The 8.8 rating makes sense to me – it’s not perfect (the elevator is tiny and the WiFi can be spotty in some rooms), but it gets the important stuff right. Parking is basically impossible around here, so definitely skip the car, but honestly, you won’t need it anyway. The morning routine became my favorite part – grabbing coffee at the bar downstairs, then walking through the market stalls that set up in Campo de’ Fiori each morning. By the time the tourist crowds arrive, you’re already out exploring somewhere else. It’s that kind of place where you feel like you’re staying in a neighborhood rather than just visiting one.

Reviews

  • Superb – Agnieszka from Poland – 26 June 2025 (9/10)

The location is awesome, you can get anywhere on foot. The room is clean, there is air conditioning and the bathroom is big. The staff is really helpful, the recommendation for restaurants was great! The keyless access to the building and the apartment was amazing.

What could be improved: The window in the apartment was tiny, so there was very little light inside. There could have been slightly more clothes hangers in the wardrobe.

  • Superb – Brennan from United States – 25 May 2025 (9/10)

This property was in the ideal location for what we were looking for on our vacation. Walkable to everything but also not too in the center of the very touristy things. There was amazing food nearby and the host offered an amazing Google list of places to go that were less touristy and more local. We followed their list for coffee, drink spots and some food and every place we went was great. Also, the AC worked phenomenally which is a big bonus for us.

  • Exceptional – Aldona from Iceland – 24 April 2025 (10/10)

The place is a pearl in the midlle of old town, in old building with high wooden ceilings, hight windows which gives magnificent vibes. Location – perfect! Walking distance to all attractions. Francesco, the host, always responded fast and informative about all what we needed to have a good time in Rome 🙂.

  • Superb – Lior from Israel – 13 April 2025 (9/10)

Amazing location, on campo di fiori.
Great room in a great building.

The staff were amazing helping with everything online.

    The shower pressure was low

  • Brilliant location and spacious room – Lee from United Kingdom – 12 April 2025 (9/10)

We stayed at this town house for 5 nights after a bad experience with another hotel we had booked and were desperate for another place to stay. This saved our trip! The room was immaculate, spacious, clean and had everything we needed for a relaxing base away from the busy atmosphere of Rome. The location was perfect as all attractions are within walking distance and the town house is located on a lively street 2 minutes away from campo Di fiori piazza. The cleaners and owner were very friendly and accommodated us with minor requests and the communication was brilliant.

  • Wonder place in a fabulous location – Vinehill-james from United Kingdom – 5 April 2025 (10/10)

Wonderful place, right in the centre of all the cafes, restaurants, bars. But not to noisy, all you hear is laughter and chatting, if you open the windows. Francesco was amazing, nothing was too much trouble, from leaving me a guidebook, map, and answering all of my questions in a fun & positive manner.

    What could be improved: Nothing!

  • Exceptional – Joshua from United Kingdom – 3 December 2024 (10/10)

Exactly what we needed, a lovely clean room in a brilliant location!

  • Perfect stay in the center of Rome – Dana from Finland – 15 November 2024 (9/10)

Nice host, big room, hot water in the shower, clean room. Good coffee and croissant upon your choice in the cafe next to the hotel for the breakfast. Online self check in. Public parking is 700 meters from the hotel, cost is near 35 euro for day. Great location!

What could be improved: Faucet in the sink needs to be changed, it looks very dated.

  • Amazing stay – worth every penny & best location – Jackie from Canada – 13 November 2024 (10/10)

Excellent location – you will not beat stepping out into the main street of Campo De Fiore. I really appreciated being able to walk to all the restaurants within 2-4 minutes. Large beautiful rooms and easy access. Staff was great when we had small requests. We will definitely be back.

  • Ideal. – Joseph from United States – 30 September 2024 (10/10)

Ideal location. Quiet rooms. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff.

What could be improved: I wish I didn’t have to leave.
