Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Torretta storica Pantheon? I was expecting just another Roman hotel trading on its proximity to the big tourist draw, but this place actually has some serious character. The building itself is this converted historic tower tucked onto Via di S. Eustachio – and I mean literally tucked, because you’ll walk past it twice before you spot the entrance. It’s one of those narrow Roman streets where you can practically touch both sides if you stretch your arms out, which honestly makes finding it feel like discovering a secret.
The location is sort of ridiculous in the best way possible. I’m talking a two-minute walk to the Pantheon, but here’s the thing locals know – you’re also about thirty seconds from Sant’Eustachio Il Caffè, which serves what might be the best espresso in Rome (and Romans will fight you about coffee, so that’s saying something). The morning routine becomes this: stumble out for your cappuccino, wander over to see the Pantheon before the tour groups descend, then duck back to your quiet little street. There’s this weird pocket of calm right around the hotel even though you’re in the thick of everything – I think it’s because Via di S. Eustachio doesn’t really lead anywhere tourists are rushing to get to.
What really sells this place, though, is how they’ve handled the whole “historic building” thing. Yeah, it’s old – you can feel it in the thick walls and the way sounds get muffled – but they’ve modernized it without making it feel like a museum or, worse, some sterile boutique place. The rooms have this lived-in elegance, if that makes sense. Not huge by American standards, but honestly, you’re in Rome – you’re not planning to spend much time in your room anyway. The staff actually knows the neighborhood, too, which is rarer than you’d think. They pointed me toward this tiny trattoria on Via dei Pastini that I never would have found otherwise, and it ended up being one of those meals you’re still talking about months later.
I’ll be straight with you – the area gets busy during the day, especially in summer, and if you’re someone who needs absolute silence to sleep, maybe pack earplugs. But the energy dies down surprisingly fast once evening hits, and there’s something kind of magical about having the Pantheon practically to yourself at 7 AM. The 9.4 rating makes sense once you’re there a day or two. It’s not flashy or trying to impress anyone, just a genuinely well-run place that happens to sit in one of the most incredible spots in Rome. Plus, and this matters more than people admit, the shower pressure is actually decent – which, trust me, is not something you can take for granted in historic Roman buildings.

Impossibly beautiful apartments. It really like for those who want to feel like a local. 1. Located from 50 meters the Pantheon. Yes, it can be a little noisy, but like in any tourist place. 2. The apartments are located in a church building, close to restaurants, coffee shops, and shops. 3. The apartment has 3 levels. On the first hall-kitchen. The second and third are bedrooms with bathrooms. The beds are very comfortable, white linens…. Oh 4 level, – 1 lendry room with tiny gym. Very nice managers Max and Federico. We arrived when it was cool, they immediately solved the problem of warming. They answered any questions at any time of the day or night, many thanks to them
What could be improved: Please note that to get to the bedrooms you need to use a stone vine staircase. This should be taken into account by older people and people with children. This was not a problem for us; on the contrary, we really liked the authenticitySuperb – John from United States – 1 July 2023 (9/10)
Great location. Quirky historic building with nice space and cold air conditioning!
Absolutely fantastic place & value! – Dennis from United States – 23 March 2023 (10/10)
amazing location & tremendous history. very clean & freshly painted look.
What could be improved: The 40 stairs to my room. 😊 But I didn’t mind it. just difficult to take luggage up & down. Also, 2 cannot take showers at same time, as water pressure drops.Very good – Sylva from United States – 18 September 2024 (8/10)
The location is amazing. And pretty apartment
What could be improved: Of course those stairs with heavy luggages
Very hard
And found long black hair throughout the apartmentA little disappointed and frustrated but for the most part enjoyed our stay. – Michael from United States – 2 April 2023 (6/10)
We loved the location, the old church next to us and the old style house. We came in late from the airport and were promptly met at the flat. The host was friendly and helpful. Most aspects of the stay was fine.
What could be improved: Our second story toilet was broken from the start and only got worse as our stay progressed. By the end of the stay we had to stop using the toilet and go two stories into the cellar to use the toilet. We were quite busy touring Rome that we did not address this with the host until the next to last day.Le paradis au centre de Rome – Luc from Canada – 13 May 2025 (10/10)
Établissement très bien situé, propre et avec toutes les commodités. De plus, Federico m’a recommandé de très bons restaurants fréquentés par des locaux.
Superb – Franck from France – 25 February 2023 (9/10)
En hyper centre à 2 pas du Pantheon.
On a tout fait à pied, Vatican, Villa Borghese, etc…
What could be improved: En hyper centre, on a du acheter des boules quies.מיקום מעולה אבל הדירה מאכזבת – Michal from Israel – 12 February 2023 (6/10)
מיקום מצוין (קצת רועש)
מיטות טובות
נקי ומאובזר
What could be improved: שני חדרי השינה נמצאים כל אחד במפלס נפרד מעל מפלס הכניסה.
עולים במדרגות לולייניות צרות מאד מאד
בשני החדרים אין דלת לשירותים!
בחדר העליון השירותים ממש חלק מהחדר.
המים בשירותים לא תמיד יורדים טוב.
הזרם במקלחת מושפע מהמקלחת השניה.Exceptional – Marco from Italy – 14 March 2025 (10/10)
