Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard about The Social Hub Rome, I was skeptical. Another trendy hotel trying too hard to be cool? But this place actually gets it right. It’s tucked away in San Lorenzo, which honestly is exactly where you want to be if you’re tired of tourist traps but still want to feel connected to the city. The neighborhood has this authentic Roman energy – think university students mixing with locals at the markets, and you’re maybe a 15-minute metro ride from the Colosseum without paying tourist-zone prices for everything.
The hotel itself feels like someone took the best parts of a boutique hotel and mixed it with a really well-designed hostel (but without the chaos). The lobby has this buzzy, co-working space vibe that actually works – I saw people having business meetings next to backpackers planning their day, and it didn’t feel forced or weird. The rooms are clean and modern, nothing fancy but they’ve thought about the details that matter. Good shower pressure, decent soundproofing (San Lorenzo can get lively at night), and – this is key – the AC actually works properly, which you’ll appreciate in Roman summers. The Wi-Fi is solid too, if you need to get work done.
What I really like is how they’ve positioned themselves in the neighborhood. You’re walking distance from Porta Maggiore, and the street food scene around here is incredible – there’s this little supplì place about two blocks away that locals line up for. The staff seems to get that most people staying here want to experience Rome like Romans do, not like tourists checking boxes. They’ll point you toward the good stuff without being pushy about it. The 8.5 rating makes sense to me – it’s not luxury, but it’s thoughtful hospitality that feels genuine. Plus, parking is actually manageable here, which if you’ve ever driven in central Rome, you know is basically a miracle.

Reviews
Good last night in Rome close to Termini – Tristan from New Zealand – 5 July 2025 (10/10)
Cool, Vibrant, rooftop pool, close to Termini
What could be improved: A bit far out from tourist attractionsVery good – Ellen from United Kingdom – 2 July 2025 (8/10)
The property was a lovely building and clean room and we enjoyed the roof top bar however this wasn’t open during the day.
What could be improved: The pool was shut and is a little bit of a distance from central Rome. There wasn’t a direct bus or tram to the central attractions however it is still easily accessible.Bravo – Heini from Finland – 29 June 2025 (10/10)
Gym was great! You can wash your clothes for free so great for longer stays also! Very spacious hotel and lot to do!
Great fun facility, loved the gym, laundry, cafe, and games tables. – Katherine from Australia – 29 June 2025 (8/10)
Great property, clean & modern & loved the facilities.. laundry, gym, cafe, games
What could be improved: The lift stopped working so we had to use the stairs. It was a long walk to the main attractions but doable.Exceptional – Carol from Ireland – 28 June 2025 (10/10)
Lovely staff , everything is brand new so hotel facilities are excellent
What could be improved: It’s a bit outside the city centerThe Social Hub Rome – everything was fantastic! – David from United Kingdom – 27 June 2025 (10/10)
Fantastic hotel! – room, facilities, staff were all superb.
Good – Omri from Israel – 26 June 2025 (7/10)
Everything is new and of a very high standard — the facilities, the room, and the bed are all very comfortable.
There are plenty of workspaces and cozy spots with sofas where you can relax and unwind.
I have no doubt that once the hotel is fully ready, it will be an excellent experience.
What could be improved: The hotel is still new, so there are a few things that aren't fully up and running yet.
The pool is ready but hasn't opened yet (which wasn’t a surprise, as it was mentioned before booking).
Service at the bar and restaurant is limited and slow, often resulting in queues.
Perhaps the most disappointing and unexpected part was that some of the activities listed in the weekly schedule were canceled, even though they were still being advertised.Amazing modern Hotel in historic Rome – Simin from Austria – 25 June 2025 (10/10)
EVERYTHING. I do not know why the Hotel is using AI photos, It looked fake and we were not sure even if something exists on that street, but the hotel is Crazy, Too big, beatiful, modern, amazing architect, nice designs, nice decoration and tooooo clean. Big rooms, clean sheets , friendly staff and the best PIZZARIA you can find in the city is inside the hotel. Too many elevators. OH MY GOD, It was Perfect
What could be improved: NOTHINGA great hotel with very friendly staff. – Claire from United Kingdom – 23 June 2025 (10/10)
A new hotel. Very modern. Very clean and staff were very friendly.
The pool I’m sure is great! Unfortunately it wasn’t ready for opening when we visited.
What could be improved: It’s slightly off the beaten track. A walk to the colosseum was approximately 25 mins. The Spanish steps were about 40 mins. We walked 50km in 3 days. I love walking, but for those less mobile, you will be relying on public transport.Fabulous – Roger from New Zealand – 22 June 2025 (10/10)
Great
What could be improved: Nothing to dislike
