You’re really staying in the heart of Rome’s most authentic neighborhood here, not some tourist bubble.

What struck me first was how the place manages to feel genuinely local while still being, you know, an actual hotel. The building itself has that weathered Roman character – thick walls that keep things surprisingly quiet despite being surrounded by Trastevere’s legendary nightlife. And speaking of nightlife, you’re about a three-minute walk from Piazza di Santa Maria, where the evening crowd gathers, but far enough up this side street that you won’t have drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 2 AM. The rooms are what you’d expect from a three-star – clean, functional, nothing fancy but with touches that show someone actually thought about the space. The staff genuinely seems to know the neighborhood, too. When I asked about where to grab morning coffee, they didn’t just point me toward some generic café but sent me to this little place on Via della Lungaretta where the barista actually remembered my order after two days.

Here’s the thing about staying here – it’s not going to blow you away with luxury, but it puts you exactly where you want to be if you’re serious about experiencing Rome beyond the Colosseum selfie spots. You’ll hear church bells in the morning instead of traffic, and the narrow streets around here are perfect for those early morning walks when the light hits the old buildings just right. The 7.2 rating seems about right, honestly – it’s solid without being spectacular, but the location does a lot of heavy lifting. Just know that if you’re the type who needs everything to be perfect and shiny, this might feel a bit too authentically Roman for your taste. But if you want to stay somewhere that feels like you’re actually in Rome rather than just visiting it, and you don’t mind navigating some genuinely medieval-width streets to get there, The Loft delivers exactly what it promises.

  What could be improved: mould in bathroom and kitchen. one shower didn’t work, the nozzle kept falling. only enough hot water for 1 shower. laundry was disgusting. bath towels were dirty. lounge was disgusting, made us itchy, there was a terrible smell musket by an electric deodorant, the next morning my wife vomited. kitchen cupboards were dirty and falling apart.

  Proprietaria molto gentile e disponibile, appartamento accogliente, luminoso e molto spazioso con giardinetto esterno. Arredamento particolare che attira l’attenzione. Le pulizie andrebbero riviste.. ho notato ragnatele sulla vetrata (all’interno) verso il giardino e negli angoli luminosi. Polvere sotto ai divani.

  Appartamento molto spazioso ma, non curato a dovere. L'impressione è che il proprietario faccia pochi sopralluoghi e lascia tutto in mano ad un'"impresa di pulizie" che si limita a dare un colpo di straccio e a mettere lenzuola pulite.
  
  What could be improved: Siamo prossimi ad Halloween ma le ragnatele vanno tolte. Comunque, poca pulizia in generale, uno dei due bagni inutilizzabile causa impianti wc e doccia rotti. Umidità e muffa sui muri. Appena abbiamo fatto presente la situazione del bagno, il proprietario (mai visto, né sentito) si è scusato tramite WhatsApp ma, non ha fatto nulla per risolvere il problema.
