Hotel Description

You know what really struck me about The Cicer One? It’s tucked away on Via Cicerone in this perfect little pocket of Prati that most tourists completely miss – which is honestly part of its charm. I mean, you’re literally a ten-minute walk from the Vatican Museums, but you’re staying in what feels like a proper Roman neighborhood where actual Romans live and work.

The place itself is on the fifth floor (there’s an elevator, thank God), and when you first walk in, it’s got this boutique feel that’s polished without being stuffy. The rooms are genuinely thoughtful – good lighting for reading, outlets where you actually need them, and these little touches that make you think someone who travels a lot designed this place. I stayed during peak season in September, and despite being so close to all the Vatican craziness, it was surprisingly quiet at night. The windows are well-insulated, which you don’t always get in Rome, especially in these older buildings.

What I really loved was how the staff actually knows the area. When I asked about dinner spots, they didn’t just hand me a generic list – they told me about this incredible family-run trattoria three blocks away that I never would have found on my own. And here’s something practical: the street parking situation is actually manageable if you have a car, unlike most of central Rome where you’re basically screwed. The neighborhood has this lived-in authenticity – there’s a morning market nearby, proper coffee bars where locals grab their espresso, and you can walk to Castel Sant’Angelo along the river without fighting through tourist crowds. The 9.2 rating makes total sense once you’re there; it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Rome, but everything just works really well. Sure, the entrance is a bit understated (you might walk past it the first time), but that’s sort of the point – it feels like you’re staying somewhere the guidebooks haven’t completely discovered yet.

Everything. Very good location, super clean room. Very very nice staff. Will definitely consider this room again when back in Rome

  • Shackleford from United States (10/10)

Location and Staff excellent. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Even had water each day in the refrigerator for use each day. Which we appreciate so much!!

  • Aigerim from Kazakhstan (9/10)

Very nice small apartment in the best location ever. The hosts are super friendly and nice! I really enjoyed the stay! Location is great, close to Vatican, close to historical center. Prati is a place to stay, as calm and safe. Plus, the best Gelateria is just few minutes away (neve di latte). I highly recommend the place!

  • Денис from Belarus (10/10)

We really liked the stay. The room was clean and comfortable. The host was kind, polite and pleasant. We had a late flight back and the host allowed us to leave our luggage as long as we need (until late night). It is very quiet place. The location is great, there is a metro station nearby. It is closed to Vatican and the Saint Angel castle. It was a pleasure to stay here. Thanks for everything!

  • Marie-chanal from Italy (9/10)

    The cleaness and the location

  • Olga from United States (10/10)

Already recommended to all my friends and would not look for another place to stay if we are in Rome again. Very quiet apartment with inner courtyard windows. We loved the old building, too, with high ceilings and wide granite stairs (there is an elevator, of course). The apartment is bigger than on the pictures. Comfy mattress and pillows. Coffee cups, mugs, teaspoons, knives, tea kettle, coffee machine, a small refrigerator (also quiet!), bottled water, coffee, tea, bisquits, jam are provided. Location is great, 20-25 minutes walk to the main sites. Easy communications through WhatsApp, Chiara was always online and available. She and her brother are so friendly and gave us invaluable advice and local info. Thank you!

  • Andrius from Lithuania (10/10)

Great location, very friendly staff. Very simple late check in.

  • Alex from United Kingdom (10/10)

Staff were very helpful on arrival, showing best places to eat for dinner and breakfast and gave me their mobile number to reach them if I had any further questions

  • Ambrose from United States (10/10)

Nice, quiet location. Very walkable. They cleaned the room everyday which was nice as well. Lorenzo was VERY helpful during my stay which made it even better. I’d definitely stay here again in future trips. Thank you for the hospitality!

  • Hili from Israel (10/10)
