Hotel Description
Honestly, when I first walked up to The Best Rent on Via Napoleone III, I wasn’t sure what to expect – the name sounds a bit generic, right? But once you step inside this modern three-bedroom apartment, you realize they might actually be onto something. The whole place has this clean, contemporary vibe that feels more like staying at a design-conscious friend’s place than a typical Roman rental.
What really gets me is the location – I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from the Colosseum. Not “close to” or “near” the Colosseum, but actually close enough that you can pop out for morning coffee and swing by to check if the tourist lines are manageable yet. The apartment sits in this surprisingly quiet pocket between Termini Station and the ancient sites, which means you’ve got the best of both worlds. You can walk to the Forum before the crowds hit, then easily catch trains or buses from Termini when you want to explore other parts of the city. Actually, I found myself using Via Merulana as my main walking route – it’s one of those streets that cuts right through the neighborhood and gives you a real feel for how Romans actually live.
The apartment itself is pretty spacious for Rome standards, and the modern fixtures feel like a breath of fresh air after staying in some of those overly ornate places that try too hard to be “authentically Roman.” The bedrooms are well-sized, the kitchen actually has everything you need (not just a mini-fridge and hope), and the whole place stays surprisingly quiet despite being so central. I was worried about noise from the station area, but the windows do a good job of keeping things peaceful. The 8.8 rating makes sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Rome, but it nails the things that actually matter when you’re exploring the city. You know what I really appreciated? The Wi-Fi is solid, there’s decent natural light throughout, and the check-in process was refreshingly straightforward. Plus, having three bedrooms means you can split costs with friends or family without feeling cramped. If you’re the type who wants to experience Rome like a temporary local rather than a tourist passing through, this place gets it right.

Reviews
Will happily stay here again and recommending this property to friends visiting Rome – Bernadette from Ireland – 30 May 2025 (8/10)
Location near train and metro making it easy to tour the city. Clean and good instructions to locate and access the property.
What could be improved: No hot water on day 2, issue dealt with very quickly and in person. Locking mechanism temperamental – maybe that was our fault.Double check adresses and don’t trust GPS (I used google maps and yandex maps, both of send me a wrong location) – Selami from Turkey – 25 March 2025 (8/10)
Overall judgement is good
What could be improved: Door lock is very inconvenientA decent property well located for tourists. Comfortable bedrooms and good to have 2 bathrooms with a large family group – Arvind from Denmark – 23 December 2024 (8/10)
Well located… close to major spots, within walking distance or a short bus ride. Good sized bed rooms. Very responsive staff
What could be improved: Immediate surroundings of the property and location were not very clean. Also, not much of a living room. Very small bathing space in the bathroom. Bedroom and bathroom locks did not work. No elevator (lift) in the building. You have to carry your bags up yourself and no place to keep bags for early checkin / late checkout.Spacious appartment in the heart of Rome – Mountaineer31 from Bulgaria – 3 March 2024 (10/10)
the location of the appartment is excellent in the heart of the city, the appartment is very specious, it is equipted with all the necessary appliances and kitchen utensils, including a coffee machine supplied with enough capsules for our stay, the appartment was very clean.
What could be improved: Although the appartment has 2 bathrooms which is great the hot water finishes all too quickly so it is not possible 2 or 3 people to take shower at the same time.Exceptional – Nazani from Armenia – 27 September 2023 (10/10)
Very modern and beautiful apartment.
you made us happy and feeling wonderful there !!!! – Andreia from Romania – 4 September 2023 (10/10)
everything was perfect , the apartment was more than we expected , more space than expected
highly recommended
What could be improved: the details of wi-fi internet to be written somewhere in the apartment , but when we asked the host answered very fastExceptional – Badir from United Arab Emirates – 7 August 2023 (10/10)
Spacious and cozy. Good for a group. Felt safe.
Exceptional – Trent from Canada – 6 May 2024 (10/10)
Very central and easy to use.
What could be improved: Not as clean as other places, little to no communication with rental providerAdequate base for exploring the city – Nigel from United Kingdom – 25 June 2025 (6/10)
Location was good, modern decor
Well equipped kitchen and AC was very useful
What could be improved: 3rd bedroom could be improved by changing sofa bed to a proper bed, we needed 3 bedrooms and the third was not made up.Good – Alexandra from Israel – 7 June 2025 (7/10)
Good location, clean, comfortable apartment. I can recommend it for the people that don't need leaving room (like us).
What could be improved: Very complicated to open/close lock in the door.
Missing small things in the kitchen like kitchen towels, dish sponge, the door in the shower is not closed good.
But in general still very nice apartment.
