Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “The Best Rent” on Via Milazzo, I thought the name was a bit much. But you know what? After staying there for a few days, I actually get it. This two-bedroom apartment sits right in that sweet spot where you’re close enough to Termini Station to hear the distant rumble of trains (which is oddly comforting, not annoying), but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the chaos of tourists dragging suitcases at 6 AM.

The apartment itself feels like someone’s actual home rather than a sterile hotel room – there’s this lived-in quality that I really appreciated. The kitchen has proper coffee cups, not those tiny hotel ones, and honestly, making espresso in the morning while looking out at the Roman street life below became my favorite part of the day. The bedrooms are a decent size, though the second one is definitely snugger than the first. What really sold me was how quiet it gets at night. Via Milazzo isn’t one of those tourist-heavy streets, so you’re sleeping next to actual Romans going about their lives, which means reasonable bedtime hours and no drunk crowds stumbling around at 3 AM.

The location is where this place really shines, though I don’t think they emphasize it enough. You’re maybe a seven-minute walk to Termini – I timed it because I’m neurotic about catching trains – but more importantly, you’re in this great neighborhood that most tourists completely miss. There’s this little bakery on the corner that does these incredible cornetti (way better than any hotel breakfast), and the local market on Via Milazzo gets genuinely good produce. I mean, I watched nonnas inspecting tomatoes there, so you know it’s legit. Plus, you can walk to the Baths of Diocletian in about ten minutes, which is this amazing archaeological site that’s never crowded because everyone’s fighting over the Colosseum. The metro connections are solid too – Repubblica station is right there, so you’re basically connected to the entire city without dealing with Termini’s madness every single day. It’s not fancy – this is definitely more “authentic Roman living” than “luxury hotel experience” – but sometimes that’s exactly what you want, especially if you’re staying for more than just a quick weekend.

Reviews

  • We had a wonderful stay – Victoria from United States – 23 May 2025 (9/10)

Very clean comfortable 1 1/2 blocks from the train station food places everywhere l give the apartment 10 out of 10

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Very good – Rajiv from United Arab Emirates – 13 April 2025 (8/10)

Very spacious. Separate kitchen. Big bedrooms. Brilliant location!

  • Nice location, clean and quite! – Fandaj from Kosovo – 12 May 2025 (8/10)

    Location

What could be improved: Water in shower was missing in the evening

  • Very good – Lam from Vietnam – 1 August 2023 (8/10)

Location is good. Facilities are good and useful.

What could be improved: The apartment door is difficult to open some time. We found that the lock is not close enough and we have to pull it out during open.

  • Nice clean appartment – Tami from Israel – 13 April 2023 (8/10)

Nice spacious apartment, spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen, and many restaurants around.

What could be improved: Handling the keys was a bit cumbersome, strange lock combination that was hand to handle, and an elevator that was sooooo cramped and hard to maneuver with the luggage.
Although there was hot water (gas-based heated), the water pressure was really weak.
Also, it would have been nice to have some basic ingredients for the morning coffee.

  • Good – Johnny from Israel – 1 August 2023 (7/10)

    Location

What could be improved: Locker of the door didnt work . Had to be changed

  • Excellent Service and Prime Location Near Termini. – Nino from Georgia – 9 February 2025 (10/10)

They responded quickly to all our questions. We needed help turning on the heater (we had hesitated to do it ourselves) – we messaged them and they came the same day, very promptly, and turned it on for us. The location is excellent, very close to the Termini station. Clean and well-organized rooms. Overall, we are very satisfied.

  • Passable – Bora from Germany – 16 January 2024 (5/10)

    Good location

What could be improved: Hot water was not really good, heating system too, and not well maintained eg. Toilet door without lock…

  • Large unit, but very uncomfortable to actually stay in – Chris from Canada – 2 November 2023 (5/10)

Building Location was great for us (very close to Termini, meaning lots of options for food, transit, etc; but that does mean it is a bit loud outside)

Support staff were quick to respond when we had questions

The unit has 2 bedrooms and both rooms are fairly large.

There are also 2 internal A/C units which can help cool the unit.

What could be improved: The unit is very uncomfortable; there is a single 2.5 seater sofa (that is an uncomfortable ikea one) and a stained chair (also uncomfortable). If you have older kids, there definitely won’t be enough room for everyone to sit. There are stools, but who wants to sit on those.

The beds are also fairly uncomfortable as are the pillows.

The kitchen has very few supplies. You won’t be able to really cook anything.

The main chair has stains on it. The walls have various scuffs of dirt. Not all outlets work. The bathroom door doesn’t close properly. The shower will cycle between hot and cold (although it is fairly standard European wise).

The “WiFi lock” can be super slow to activate from the app, and doesn’t always work. So you have to then slowly type in the code.

Clearly nobody who owns this unit has properly stayed there, otherwise they would realize it isn’t comfortable (in a multitude of ways).

The neighbour unit also decided to start renovations during our stay (which isn’t directly a problem from the host, but the noise was very noticeable, so be aware).

The unit is on the top (4th floor). There is an elevator, but it is a small retrofit one (typical for Europe). So if you need to take the elevator, it is very small (2 people max)

  • Passable – Sharbel from Palestinian Territory – 16 June 2023 (5/10)

The location near the Termini station

What could be improved: Shower with cold water while you bath.
