Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed in my fair share of Roman rentals, and honestly? The Best Rent on Via Angelo Poliziano is one of those places that just gets it right. When I first walked up to number 70, I’ll admit I was a bit skeptical – the building looks pretty ordinary from the street, tucked into that maze of narrow roads that makes up Monti. But you know what they say about judging books by their covers.
The flat itself is actually elegant without being stuffy, if that makes sense. The owner clearly put thought into every detail – I’m talking about good linens that don’t feel scratchy, proper lighting that doesn’t make you look like a vampire, and a kitchen that’s actually functional (not just there for show like so many rentals). The whole place has this warm, lived-in feel that makes you forget you’re technically in someone else’s space. What really sold me, though, was stepping onto that little balcony in the morning with my coffee and realizing I could actually see a slice of the Colosseum between the buildings. I mean, come on – that’s the kind of detail that makes a trip memorable.
But here’s what most people don’t tell you about staying in Monti: it’s not just about being close to the big tourist spots (though yeah, you can walk to the Colosseum in maybe eight minutes). This neighborhood has this incredible energy, especially in the evenings when the locals start filling up the wine bars along Via del Boschetto. The apartment sits right in the sweet spot where you’re close enough to hear the buzz of the neighborhood but far enough from the main drags that you’re not dealing with tour groups chattering outside your window at 7 AM. Parking is… well, it’s Rome, so forget about that and just embrace the metro. Cavour station is basically around the corner, and honestly, once you’re down there, the whole city opens up. The only tiny complaint I have – and this is really reaching – is that the Wi-Fi can be a bit spotty in the bedroom, but who’s working from bed in Rome anyway? Pro tip: if you’re there during the summer, that top floor location means it stays bright until late (which I actually loved), and the AC works well enough that you won’t be melting into the beautiful hardwood floors.

Reviews
This apartment was the best place we stayed after 2 weeks in Europe. – Nicole from United States – 5 July 2025 (10/10)
The apartment was spacious and easily accessible.
What could be improved: We liked everything about the property.Large 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment – Holly from Germany – 29 April 2025 (9/10)
As a family of 4, this was a great apartment. The kids each got their own beds in one bedroom, and the master bedroom for us parents included a bathroom. The second bathroom is off the kitchen. The place has everything. Next to the towels in each bedroom was a small bag with body wash, hand soap, a shower cap, etc. There was also a pair of disposable "house shoe" slippers for everyone. We didn't really cook, but you could easily do so in the kitchen. The refrigerator is large. There is a washing machine for clothes and a dishwasher, including the respective detergent pods for each machine. No dryer, but there is a drying rack. The living room has two couches, so all 4 of us could sit and talk or watch a little TV if we wanted to. It is a rather roomy apartment with good amenities. I liked that the apartment was in a less bustling part of the city.
What could be improved: The door code system was strange, and it requires that you have your mobile phone. There was also a strange check-in process where you had to send a photo of yourself and preregister a day or two beforehand.
FYIs about choosing this apartment: 1) You may want to look carefully at the distances on the map. The location was good for us, but it was a 10+ minute walk to get to any sites/public transport. 2) Not a lot of restaurants super close. There is a bakery across the street, but the bakery has very high prices. Better to get breakfast at the grocery store.Nice place to stay. – Roy from Israel – 25 April 2025 (9/10)
The place is very nice and clean.
The easy access with the online application was comfortable.
Good kitchen.
What could be improved: After purchasing via booking.com we had to add an unexpected 150 euro extra charge to finalize check in.
The location is good but not great.
Close to the train station but not to the center of the city.Superb – Sanja from United Kingdom – 25 March 2025 (9/10)
For a group of people it is great that it has two bathrooms, spacious rooms, very clean, comfortable beds. Close to all sights and public transport. In the area you have everything you need, quiet and very nice neighborhood and yet close to the center.
Exceptional – Kinga from United Kingdom – 4 March 2025 (10/10)
We loved the location of the apartment, easy access/check-in, and fantastic communication with the host. We will definitely recommend this place to our friends!
Perfect for a family holiday. – Cecilia from Australia – 20 February 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: Could have better toiletries shampoo conditioner shower gel and washing mashone powder.Exceptional – Tomasz from Poland – 26 January 2025 (10/10)
Well located. A couple of minutes walking to the Metro and bus. Very good shop Conad is near. Quiet. Big space.
Superb – Heather from Australia – 2 December 2024 (9/10)
The location was excellent, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. Access to cafes and deli's was good. Especially Conad, the local supermarket.
What could be improved: NothingSuperb – Michaela from United States – 22 July 2024 (9/10)
The host met us there, which was helpful. It's very quiet, as it's away from the street. Only a 8 minute walk to a metro station that could take us to sites like the Spanish Steps and the Vatican.
What could be improved: We had trouble with the door once, but they sent someone within 10 minutes to help us. It's a bit out of the way from most of the sights except the colluseum. What a wonderful place to stay in Rome! – Elayne from United States – 28 June 2024 (10/10)
We loved everything about this place! It was truly a little home away from home while we were in Rome. Very spacious for our family of 4. The two bathrooms were so convenient, and everything was well maintained and clean. The air conditioning was a huge plus as well
What could be improved: Can’t think of anything!
