The B Place Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to The B Place on Via degli Scipioni, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star spot. But you know what? Sometimes the best discoveries are the ones that surprise you. This little gem sits right in the heart of Prati, which honestly might be one of Rome’s most underrated neighborhoods. You’re literally a 10-minute walk from the Vatican Museums, but here’s the thing – you’re not stuck in that touristy bubble where everything costs twice as much and feels completely artificial.
The hotel itself has this sort of modern-meets-classic Roman vibe that actually works. The rooms are clean and well-thought-out (I mean, they’re not huge, but this is Rome – what did you expect?), and the staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work. What really won me over was the attention to small details – proper blackout curtains that actually block the morning light, decent water pressure in the shower, and air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a jet engine. The breakfast isn’t going to blow your mind, but it’s solid and gets the job done before you head out for a day of wandering around the city. I actually found myself chatting with other guests most mornings, which doesn’t happen often in bigger hotels where everyone’s rushing around.
But here’s why I’d recommend this place – the location is absolutely perfect if you want to experience Rome like someone who actually lives there. Via degli Scipioni has this great mix of local shops, cafés, and restaurants where you’ll hear more Italian than English. There’s a fantastic little market just down the street where locals do their shopping, and honestly, grabbing fresh fruit and cheese there became part of my daily routine. The metro stop at Ottaviano is right there when you need to get across the city quickly, but most of the time you can just walk – Castel Sant’Angelo is maybe 15 minutes on foot, and the walk takes you through these lovely residential streets lined with those classic Roman buildings. Plus, parking isn’t a complete nightmare in this area if you’re crazy enough to rent a car in Rome (though I wouldn’t recommend it). The neighborhood gets busy during the day with people heading to the Vatican, but evenings are surprisingly quiet and peaceful. For the price point and that 8-rating they’ve earned, The B Place delivers exactly what it promises – a comfortable, authentic Roman experience without the tourist trap nonsense.

Reviews of The B Place
Great staff, great location, comfortable bed – Gideon from South Korea – 1 July 2025 (8/10)
Very helpful and welcoming staff. The room had everything you needed. Great location.
What could be improved: I have nothing to compare it to in terms of the price range and other hotels in Rome. It was all good but the room was fairly basic.Superb – Margaret from United Kingdom – 14 June 2025 (9/10)
Staff were very welcoming. Very helpful. Lovely roof top breakfast area ..
What could be improved: A little far outExcellent Value and Location, Very Small Room and Shower – Emily from United States – 1 June 2025 (8/10)
The location was excellent. I walked from the hotel to a tour of the Vatican Museums, and the Metro is super close. The room was very small but comfortable, and breakfast on the roof deck was fantastic.
What could be improved: Smallest shower I’ve ever come across: it was like a shower for a boat. I’m 5’4 and 110lbs, and I found it cramped – hit my elbows against the walls while washing my hair!Great stay – Karolis from Lithuania – 29 March 2025 (9/10)
We had a great stay, our rooms were newly decorated and they were cleaned everyday. The location is great, close to the tourist attractions. We were very happy with the host who helped to keep our luggage and called airport taxi.
What could be improved: All goodGreat place to visit Rome Downtown – Richard from Spain – 19 February 2025 (9/10)
Quiet Room, no smoking odor, nice location.
What could be improved: Breakfast period is too short.Fallin' for Rome – Mary from Qatar – 22 January 2025 (9/10)
We extended our stay for 1 more night. Staff were very nice, helpful and accommodating. Robert helped us to navigate the areas we want to visit. Our room was big enough. It's close to metro station and easy to get a public transport. Walking distance to Vatican, restaurants and has groceries nearby. Breakfast was good and at the rooftop. We had an access to a garden from our room.
What could be improved: I wish there was a walk-in shower. No slippers were provider. We should have asked too but we didn't and instead used what we have.Fallin' for Rome – Mary from Qatar – 4 January 2025 (9/10)

Everything. Just need to open the windows to get some fresh/cool air (we stayed in November). It gets humid after showering. Beds okay. Other than that, amazing stay!
Great place to stay – Heorhi from Germany – 13 November 2024 (8/10)
Amazing location and breakfasts
What could be improved: A bit old and used furnitureThe manager and the staff are friendly and welcoming the guests. The location is great – Amr from Egypt – 10 November 2024 (8/10)
The manager was nice and welcoming and tried to provide all the needed facilities
What could be improved: The rooms are a little bit old and small, but I guess this is normal in Rome
