Terrazze Navona Overview
Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of Rome hotels, and Terrazze Navona honestly surprised me in the best way. You know that feeling when you walk into a place and immediately think “okay, this is actually nice”? That’s exactly what happened here. The building itself sits on Via della Vetrina – which, if you’re not familiar with Rome’s tiny street names, is basically a stone’s throw from the Pantheon. I mean, you can literally walk there in about two minutes, maybe three if you stop to gawk at the street artists.
What really got me was how they’ve managed to feel boutique-y without being pretentious about it. The rooms have this sort of understated elegance thing going on – clean lines, good lighting (thank god, because so many Roman hotels have terrible lighting), and honestly the beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been sleeping on a medieval torture device. The bathrooms are well… they’re small, but this is Rome, so you kind of expect that. At least the water pressure is decent, which is more than I can say for half the places I’ve stayed in the centro storico.
Here’s the thing about the location that most people don’t realize until they’re there – yes, you’re right in the heart of everything, but Via della Vetrina is actually pretty quiet at night. The crazy tourist crowds thin out once you step off the main drag toward the Pantheon, so you get this weird best-of-both-worlds situation. During the day you can stumble out and grab coffee at that little place on the corner (their cornetti are solid), and at night it’s peaceful enough that you can actually sleep with the windows open if you want. The staff seems to really know their stuff too – they gave me directions to this tiny trattoria that I never would have found otherwise, and it ended up being one of my favorite meals of the trip.
I will say, if you’re someone who needs a lot of space to spread out, this might not be your place. The rooms are cozy (European cozy, not American spacious), and there’s no pool or gym or anything like that. But honestly, when you’re this close to everything worth seeing, who cares? You’ll be walking everywhere anyway. The 8.5 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be the Ritz, but it does what it does really well. For the price point and location, I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I wanted to be in the thick of things without dealing with the chaos of staying right on one of the major piazzas.

Location and ease of access were fantastic .. comfortable and clean .. bathroom spacious and tea/coffee availability great..
What could be improved: We felt the photographs were not quite depictive of the room we were given and being asked within the last hours of our stay to leave a cash “tax” amount was totally unacceptable .. we did not have cash and this was the first we’d heard of this from this property.Very good – Tracey from New Zealand – 12 June 2025 (8/10)

What could be improved: Bathrooms need updating and you can hear everyone else in the hotel coming in and out with slamming doorsPerfect location for our short stay over in Rome. – Joseph from United States – 18 May 2025 (10/10)
The location was perfect, two blocks from Piazza Navona and a short walk to the Vatican City. Even the Colosseum was within walking distance.
What could be improved: Being on the fourth floor (fifth for U.S. travelers) really required using the elevator, but the elevator was very small and tough to get in and out of with luggage.Quiet, very comfortable, great location, Vincenzo was lovely and very helpful, very enjoyable stay – Clayton-vincent from Australia – 16 May 2025 (10/10)

What could be improved: Very comfortable, great bath and the bird noise of a morningSuperb – Adela from United States – 27 April 2025 (9/10)
The Terrace was an extra bonus. The view was spectacular and hearing the church bells were amazing.
What could be improved: No front desk.
