Hotel Description

You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to Terrazza Munira – it’s tucked away on Via Emilio Morosini, which honestly feels more like a quiet residential street than somewhere you’d find a hotel. But that’s actually part of its charm. This isn’t one of those tourist traps near the Pantheon where you’re dodging selfie sticks just to get to your room. Instead, you’re properly in Trastevere, where locals are still hanging laundry from their windows and the morning sounds are more about coffee machines than tour groups.

The building itself has that weathered Roman elegance – you know, the kind where every stone looks like it’s got stories. What really got me was the terrace situation (hence the name, I suppose). The rooftop views are honestly spectacular, especially in the evening when the light hits those terracotta rooftops just right. I mean, you can see clear across to the city center, and it’s the kind of view that makes you understand why people fall in love with Rome. The rooms are solid for a 4-star place – nothing groundbreaking, but they’ve got character without trying too hard. Good air conditioning too, which, if you’ve been to Rome in July, you’ll know is basically non-negotiable.

Here’s the thing about the location though – it’s a bit of a walk to get anywhere major. The nearest Metro stop is Pyramide, which is maybe 15 minutes on foot, but honestly, that’s what makes this neighborhood special. You’re surrounded by actual Roman life. There’s this little bakery about two blocks down that does incredible cornetti in the morning, and the staff at Terrazza Munira will point you toward the good local spots if you ask. The area gets properly lively at night – Trastevere has that whole bohemian nightlife thing going on – but the hotel itself stays surprisingly quiet. I was worried about noise, but their double-glazed windows actually work. The 8.7 rating makes sense when you experience it; it’s not perfect (the WiFi can be spotty, and don’t expect lightning-fast room service), but it delivers on the things that matter. Plus, the staff genuinely seem to care about the place rather than just going through the motions. If you want to feel like you’re staying in Rome rather than just visiting it, this is your spot.

Reviews

  • Very good – Mariya from Bulgaria – 3 July 2025 (8/10)

We got a different room from the one on the fotos. For three people it was fine for two nights. Not longer.

What could be improved: The size of the room. We were left with the impression that we will get an apartment not one room in a shared flat where the kitchen / living room is shared.

  • Exceptional – Anmij from United Arab Emirates – 22 June 2025 (10/10)

the terrace is a very good addition. The room is clean. No staff in the area.

  • Great place for a short stay. – Ewan from United Kingdom – 16 May 2025 (8/10)

    Great location. Nice atmosphere.

What could be improved: Everything pretty good. Good for short stays.

  • Exceptional – Andy from United Kingdom – 11 April 2025 (10/10)

The bed, the shower, the roof terrace. Everything was clean, the room was made up daily. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would book again if we returned to Rome. Trastevere is a great neighbourhood with some lovely restaurants.

What could be improved: Had no problems.

  • Good value small and quiet hotel – Michael from United Kingdom – 23 March 2025 (9/10)

The hotel is in a large building but despite being in Trastevere it’s really quiet and peaceful at night. The room was well equipped and had a great shower. It was nice to have access to a small kitchen area to make a drink and the outside shared terrace was a real bonus

What could be improved: It’s a bit tricky to find tucked behind another building almost.

  • Nice stay in trastevere – Laura from Italy – 22 March 2025 (9/10)

    Good position. Clean. NICE room

  • Perfect location with a beautiful terrace – Marissa from United States – 8 March 2025 (10/10)

Beautiful room with a roman rub that was spectacular to use. Walking distance to a very fun local beer brewery/bar. 3 mins walking and had so much fun there last night. If I come back to Rome, I will stay here!!

  • Exceptional – Sasha from Bulgaria – 21 February 2025 (10/10)

Amazingly clean, comfy bed, very quiet and good location. Nice bathroom as well.

What could be improved: I didn't like that after our first night the cleaning lady had been in the room to make the bed and fold our clothes – it wasn't necessary when we are staying just for two nights and not everyone likes it.

  • Exceptional – Lauren from United States – 3 February 2025 (10/10)

The staff was so friendly and helpful
. The room was beautiful and just what we needed

  • Great value, cool area – Beth from United Kingdom – 27 January 2025 (8/10)

Stylish hotel room, friendly staff contactable on WhatsApp, great value for money

What could be improved: Not an issue for us but be aware hotel is on 4th floor of building with very small lift so may not be accessible for all
