Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “TERRACED APARTMENT – Metro to Vatican & center” I thought it was going to be one of those cramped Roman places where you bang your elbows on everything. Boy, was I wrong. This place on Via Baldo degli Ubaldi actually surprised me, and I mean that in the best way possible.

The Aurelio neighborhood isn’t where most tourists end up, which is honestly part of its charm. You’re far enough from the chaos of central Rome to actually breathe (and sleep without constant sirens), but close enough that you can hop on the Metro A line and be at the Vatican in maybe 15 minutes. The street itself is pretty quiet – mostly residential with a few local bars where you’ll hear more Italian than English, which I love. There’s this little alimentari downstairs where the owner, this older guy with incredible mustache, will set you up with everything you need for breakfast without speaking a word of English. It’s that kind of neighborhood authenticity you can’t fake.

What really got me about this apartment was the terrace situation – and I mean, the name gives it away, but still. Most Roman apartments have these tiny balconies where you can barely fit a chair, but this one actually has space to spread out. I spent way too many evenings out there with a bottle of wine from the shop around the corner, watching the sunset paint the buildings that soft Roman gold. The apartment itself feels lived-in rather than sterile – good kitchen (actually functional, not just for show), decent Wi-Fi that doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and honestly? The bed was comfortable enough that I overslept more than once. The bathroom’s got one of those rainfall showers that Europeans do so well, though fair warning – the water pressure can be a bit temperamental in the mornings when everyone’s getting ready.

You know what I really appreciated? The host left actual recommendations, not just the touristy stuff. There’s this trattoria about a ten-minute walk away where they do this incredible cacio e pepe – I’m talking about the kind that makes you question every other pasta you’ve ever had. And the parking situation (if you’re brave enough to drive in Rome) isn’t terrible, which is basically a miracle. The 9.4 rating makes sense once you’re there – it’s not fancy in a flashy way, but everything works, it’s clean, and it feels like staying at a friend’s place rather than some anonymous hotel room. I actually found myself looking forward to coming back each day, which doesn’t always happen when you’re traveling. Sometimes you just want a place that feels like home base, you know?

Very good location, near the metro and many small coffee shops. Great host, Guido! Good room utility (3 baths, well-equipped kitchen, air-condition).

  • Lorna from United Kingdom (9/10)

Guido met us at the apartment ,was really helpful ,gave us a few tips about Rome, and organised a taxi back to the airport

  • Anita from Netherlands (10/10)

I stayed in this accommodation with 5 friends. We saw the pictures and the price and we thought it was too good to be true. But everything was exactly as in the pictures. The apartment is beautiful, very spacious with 3 bed- and bathrooms. If you want to use a sofa bed in the living room, extra bed linen is provided. The kitchen is well equipped (besides wine glasses, there was only 1), with a dishwasher and even a washing machine. Lots of space to watch television or have breakfast / play a game at the big dining table. There is even a big, lovely outdoor space. A few supermarkets are close by to do shopping for breakfast, etc. The apartment is situated a 2 minute walk to the nearest metro station and 5 minutes to the nearest bus station. And then the host!!! In all the years I booked accommodations via Booking.com I never had such a wonderful host. In case of a question Laura answered almost immediately. She took care of transport for the 6 of us from and to the airport, she arranged that a man called Guido welcomed us at the apartment. He handed us the keys and gave us a lot of information. And Laura even drew maps to guide us to the nearest bus station. So only compliments from all of us!!

  • Claire from United Kingdom (10/10)

Guido who met us was so friendly and helpful and the place was lovely!

  • Louise from United Kingdom (10/10)

Amazing apartment. Extremely spacious with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Fully equipped kitchen. Beautiful outside space. Air-conditioned which was a must in August We travelled as a family of 5 and would certainly recommend this apartment to families or a group of friends. Close to tube so easy access to Rome's attractions. Great service from owner and Guido who meets you on arrival. Couldn't have asked for more. Would highly recommend.

  • Kwun (10/10)

We are so lucky to be able to book this place last minute, since.it is usually fully booked months advance for high season.

Guido (the onsite manager) was very friendly and is a great communicator. He takes care of our needs and is very responsive which gives us high assurances given our long flights and late arrival when everyone just wanted to settle down.

The rooms are beautifully decorated with tons of amenities, the kitchen is well stocked and we had breakfast in our room every day. The balcony was a great place to hang out with the family after a long day.

  • Sheri from United States (10/10)

Beautiful apartment! Guido was very helpful and we had everything we needed. There are places to eat and a fresh market very close.

  • Anonymous from United States (9/10)

Spacious. Three bedroom. Three full baths. Air conditioning worked well. Clothes washer in the apartment. Lovely, large private patio. Close to the subway and shopping. Stocked with the basics to get us going. No street noise.

This place was the best place ever! I have stayed in a bunch of hotels/apartments from Booking.com
but this one was exceptional! Laura and Guido were not just super helpful, nice and responsive. No they went beyond every exception! Laura helped us with the COVID testing and even met us at the testing center. And Guido helped us arrange a transit from the airport to the apartment and from the apartment to the harbor. Honestly, I barely leave any recommendations but this one was amazing! so if you are hesitant to book it – book it. Super clean, a lot of space and great location! No single doubt – best place I have stayed so far!!

  • Georgi from Bulgaria (10/10)

Прекрасен и голям апартамент в изключителна близост до метрото. Много учтив и отзивчив домакин.
