Hotel Description

Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of Rome hotels, and Suite Oriani honestly surprised me – in the best way possible. It’s tucked away on Via Barnaba Oriani, which sounds fancy but is actually this quiet residential street where Romans actually live, not just where tourists shuffle around taking photos. You know what I mean? When you step out the front door, you’re not immediately hit with souvenir shops and tour groups. Instead, you’ve got this lovely tree-lined street that feels like you’re staying in someone’s neighborhood rather than a hotel district. The Villa Borghese park is literally a five-minute walk – I mean, you can see people jogging past in the morning from some of the suite windows. And here’s the thing about Parioli that guidebooks don’t tell you: it’s where Romans go to escape being tourists in their own city.

The suites themselves are… well, they’re actually suites, not those cramped rooms with a tiny sitting area that hotels love to call suites. Each one has this proper separation between living and sleeping areas, which makes such a difference when you’re trying to spread out maps and plan your day (or honestly, when one person wants to stay up reading while the other crashes early from all that walking). The design feels authentically Italian without being overdone – think warm colors and good fabrics rather than fake antiques and cheesy Roman murals. What really got me was the attention to small details: the coffee setup actually includes decent beans, the bathroom has proper water pressure, and the air conditioning works without sounding like a helicopter landing. I stayed during a scorching July, and honestly, coming back to a genuinely cool room after hours of sightseeing felt like pure luxury.

Here’s what makes this place special though – the staff actually knows the neighborhood. When I asked about dinner recommendations, they didn’t just hand me a generic tourist list. Instead, they sent me to this little trattoria three blocks away where I ended up having one of my best meals in Rome, sitting next to Italian families celebrating someone’s birthday. The woman at the front desk also clued me in on the best time to visit Villa Borghese (early morning, before 8 AM – trust me on this) and which metro entrance to use to avoid the crowds heading to the Spanish Steps. It’s that kind of local knowledge that you can’t get from a chain hotel. The location means you’re close enough to hit all the major sites – the Trevi Fountain is maybe 15 minutes by metro – but far enough away that you can actually sleep at night without drunk tourists singing outside your window. Plus, there’s decent parking if you’re brave enough to drive in Rome (I wasn’t, but I saw other guests managing it just fine). The 9.2 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve been there – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in the city, but it absolutely nails what it sets out to do.

  • Extraordinary pleasant – Anna from Germany – 25 June 2025 (10/10)

We stayed for a long weekend at the property and from the very beginning the hosts were extraordinary warm and friendly. We got the coffee in the morning even not asking about that and the room was every day tided by the room service. The host Maria-Theresa was like Coco Channel, gorgeous seniora with lovely kittens in the yard where my daughter played. We stayed like at home in Rome with grate gratefulness and pleasure. Many thanks and greetings from Alemannia.

  • Nice and comfortable – Gamze from Turkey – 15 June 2025 (10/10)

  • Idyllic stay in Rome – Grace from India – 12 June 2025 (9/10)

Suite Oriani is a great place to stay in Rome. The best part about the hotel is the owner and the staff. They are extremely helpful and go out of their way to help you. When we wanted to go to a Laundromat the owner simply offered to do our laundry for us free of charge!! Amazing hospitality!!

What could be improved: Like every thing. Wish the room had Blinds as the thin/ sheer curtains do not keep the light out in the morning.

  • Best place to stay in Rome – Marina from Latvia – 8 May 2025 (10/10)

Wonderful apartments in the most beautiful and quiet neighborhood. It’s our second time here, and once again we’re delighted. Everything is very comfortable and beautifully designed.

    What could be improved: Nothing👍

  • A wonderful memory! – Katrina from United States – 18 April 2025 (10/10)

Suite Oriani is located in the quiet Parioli district of northern Rome. The owner, Alessandro, was very welcoming and his majordomo Marco greeted us each morning with coffee and biscuits. Suite Oriani is not a “full-service” hotel, meaning there is not a 24-hour desk clerk or room service; but if you need anything you can always contact the owner and you should not worry about coming in after dinner because the neighborhood is very safe. The atmosphere inside Suite Oriani is also very nice. You can eat in local cafes, patisseries and restaurants; and it is easy to reach the hotel from the Roma Termini station with the 223 bus. You can pick it up opposite the ancient Baths of Diocletian after riding the Leonardo Express train into Rome from Fiumicino Airport.

The hotel and neighborhood were very peaceful. Parioli is something like Zurich but grander and more colorful because it is in Italy. Behind the gate of Suite Oriani were a lovely little porch and drive where you could have coffee and maybe say “hello” to a neighborhood cat. The house looks like an old brick mansion carefully maintained. Its rooms sit around and above a pleasant little foyer. Our room was lovely: tastefully equipped with older wooden furniture decorated with marquetry and cast bronze fittings. There was a carafe for hot water and a small fridge. The bathroom was all stone tile in shades of beige. Very pretty!

If you are a traveller who does not like to stay in a big box hotel with sealed windows or you would like to be away from the more crowded areas of Rome, Suite Oriani is perfect. If you like to stroll after a quiet dinner past beautiful Mediterranean art deco buildings and embassies, then this is the place for you. I had a wonderful time there with my daughter and wish we could have stayed longer.

What could be improved: Everything was perfect.

  • I would definitely return and recommend! – Rosa from United Kingdom – 31 March 2025 (10/10)

Delightful place and delightful people, willing to go the extra mile to ensure you have a great stay.

  • Suite Oriani was an amazing place to stay, beautiful and peaceful. – Susan from Canada – 27 October 2024 (10/10)

Well this is a definite gem for hotels!! The Oriani is in a smaller neighborhood near Villa Borghese. It is 5 mins to the taxi stand or bus to the metro.
As soon as you walk through the gate, you are surrounded by flowers and a lovely house. The garden area is beautiful.
It is self serve entry, and we walked up to the 2nd floor and our room had a lovely balcony that overlooks some other buildings which all have flowers and trees.
The room is wonderful, has a shower, toilet and bidet. They supply towels and shampoo and conditioner.
The bed is one of the best beds I have slept in, in Europe, without being a large hotel chain. There is a little sitting area, and lighting is good.
The other gem of this hotel is Alvaro, he is a very hard worker, likes to chat, well we tried to understand each other and did well!! He brought us coffee, cookies and orange juice every morning, and always was available for any other problems or concerns we had. Like getting a taxi!! He was very nice and helpful.

What could be improved: The Suite Oriani has it all put together.
There is not one thing I would change.
Unless you want to be closer to the action of Rome.
However, we found the business of Rome and all the attractions too much, and enjoyed the quiet of the neighborhood at the end of the day.

  • Exceptional – Niko from Finland – 29 June 2024 (10/10)

This perfect location within walking distance from Parco della Musica. Very nice and clean room.

  • calm and cleaning place – Jose from Portugal – 14 June 2024 (10/10)

    Many things

    What could be improved: nothing

  • For sure will stay again here👍 – Marina from Latvia – 1 June 2024 (9/10)

Very nice district and area around. Super comfort apartment.

What could be improved: Nothing to say.
