Hotel Description
You know what? I’ve walked past Spazio Cavour Guesthouse about a dozen times before actually staying there, and honestly, I’d been missing out. It sits on this quiet stretch of Via Marianna Dionigi that most tourists never find – which is exactly why you want to know about it. The Prati neighborhood gets overshadowed by all the Vatican chaos, but once you’re tucked into these residential streets, it’s like discovering Rome’s best-kept secret.
The guesthouse itself has this understated elegance that actually feels more Roman than a lot of the flashier hotels near the major sites. I mean, it’s not trying to be the Hassler or anything – it’s a solid 4-star that knows exactly what it is. The rooms have that clean, modern feel without being sterile, and the beds are honestly better than what you’ll find at some of the pricier places closer to the Colosseum. What really got me was how quiet it stays, even though you’re only a 10-minute walk from St. Peter’s. The building itself seems to muffle the city noise really well – something about these old Roman structures, I guess.
Here’s the thing that sold me on this place: the location is absolutely perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Rome rather than just visiting it. There’s this little morning market on Via Cola di Rienzo where locals actually shop (not the touristy stuff), and you can grab fresh cornetti that are still warm. The metro stop at Lepanto is maybe 7-8 minutes away, which connects you to the rest of the city without the headache of staying right in the center. Plus, and this is key – parking is actually manageable in this area if you’re brave enough to drive in Rome. The 7.8 rating makes sense to me; it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. The staff genuinely seems to care about helping you figure out the neighborhood, not just pushing the standard tourist circuit. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I wanted to explore Rome at a more relaxed pace.

Fabulous location, we could walk to any famous places, there are a lot nice cafes and restaurants around, friendly staff, room is nice and clean, air conditioner works, good bathroom. Breakfast is croissant and coffee in the cafe two minutes walk from the house.
Very good – Eriselnta from Norway – 21 April 2025 (8/10)
The location was very good. We could walk everywher. The manager (Claudia) was very helpful and kind. The breakfast was quite good in a very nice cafe near the building. Recommend it for a pleasant stay.
Perfect location for first time in Rome exploring on foot. – Bella from Australia – 13 October 2024 (7/10)
Great location. Owner was wonderful – extremely kind/ helpful and promptly responded to all messages. Room and amenities were very clean, no issues at all inside the building. Easy check in/ out with clear instructions from owner.
What could be improved: Lack of natural light, and occasionally an unpleasant odour from the courtyard. We will be back 🙃 – Peter from Slovenia – 12 September 2024 (8/10)
A nicely furnished room, a kitchen was available, an interesting breakfast 😁
What could be improved: I missed the free parking space at the property.Great location and breakfast option – James from United Kingdom – 17 August 2024 (8/10)
Great location, secure and clean apartment, good communication with owners. Breakfast consists of vouchers for a coffee and croissant at a nearby cafe, which is excellent.
Very good – Ana from Costa Rica – 24 May 2024 (8/10)
The Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We loved the location and found the owner very kind and friendly. There are some restaurants and cafés around the area as well! Overall we recommend this place.
What could be improved: The kitchen did not have cooking oil nor salt or pepper for guests to use. For the guest it does not make sense to buy oil or spices for just a couple days.Very good – Καλούδη from Greece – 29 December 2023 (8/10)
The spot was great and it was very clean.
What could be improved: Generally it was too noisy. There was a television but it didn’t work (the was no signal) and there was a small refrigerator but there wasn’t a way to plug it.Great Place near Vatican – Berke from Turkey – 18 November 2023 (8/10)
The room was sufficiently clean and bed was comfortable. Staff was very helpful to answer our questions. Bathroom and shower were also great and clean.
What could be improved: We should have been notified for the building access before we arrived at the Rome because we lost a little bit of time trying to figure it out.Great room and location, but no AC – Lovisa from Sweden – 6 October 2023 (9/10)
Small but OK room, modern with great location. We walked eveywhere and 5 min from busstop to the airport! Clean room with everything we needed. Left our bags during a early morning tour to pick up later, perfect! You get a cupong for a coffe, juice and croissant at a café at the next street. Good shower. The big bed was one soft side and one harder.
What could be improved: No AC! Says aircondition but it's only a fan..
