My room was compact but thoughtfully designed — you know how Roman buildings can be, with their thick ancient walls and interesting angles. The staff clearly understands that travelers need modern comfort in a historic setting, so everything works perfectly even if the layout feels uniquely Italian. The air conditioning was a lifesaver during my July visit, and the bathroom had this great rainfall shower that felt amazing after walking around cobblestones all day. Here’s what I really appreciated — the hotel sits in this perfect spot where you can easily walk to the major attractions, but you’re also surrounded by authentic Roman life. There’s a fantastic little restaurant called Il Chianti just around the corner that serves incredible carbonara (the owner, Marco, will chat with you about wine for hours if you let him). The morning coffee bar downstairs from the hotel makes espresso that rivals anything I had in the city, and the staff there started recognizing me by day three. You’ll also find a small grocery store two blocks away, which was perfect for grabbing water and snacks.

Why Guests Love It

Couples especially seem drawn to this place, and I can see why — there’s something romantic about being so close to the Trevi Fountain while still having a peaceful retreat to return to. The hotel staff strikes this perfect balance of being helpful without hovering, and they genuinely seem to enjoy sharing recommendations about their city. The location score speaks for itself, but what the numbers don’t capture is how this place makes you feel like you’re experiencing the real Rome, not just checking famous sites off a list.
