Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Rome, and San Pietro Rooms 84 is one of those finds that makes you want to keep it secret – but honestly, it’s too good not to share. The moment you walk up Via dei Gracchi (which, by the way, is this lovely tree-lined street that most tourists completely miss), you get the feeling you’ve stumbled onto something special. The building itself has that classic Roman elegance without being stuffy about it, and the entrance actually feels welcoming rather than intimidating like some of these fancy hotels can be.
What really got me was how the staff seemed to genuinely know their stuff about the neighborhood. I mean, anyone can point you toward the Vatican – you’re literally a 10-minute walk from St. Peter’s – but these folks told me about the morning market on Via Cola di Rienzo where locals actually shop, and this little osteria tucked away on Via Germanico that I never would’ve found otherwise. The rooms themselves are… well, they’re exactly what you’d want after a long day of walking around Rome. Clean lines, comfortable beds (seriously comfortable – I’m picky about mattresses), and the kind of attention to detail that makes you feel like someone actually cares about your stay. The bathrooms are modern without being sterile, and there’s this lovely natural light that filters in during the mornings.
You know what I really appreciated? The neighborhood vibe. Prati is where Romans actually live and work, so you’re not constantly surrounded by other tourists taking selfies. There’s this authentic rhythm to the streets – people heading to work, kids walking to school, that sort of thing. The metro stop at Lepanto is maybe five minutes away, so you can easily get to the Colosseum or wherever, but honestly, some of my best memories were just wandering around the local streets. There’s a fantastic bakery right around the corner that does these incredible cornetti in the morning, and the evening passeggiata along the nearby streets is something you just don’t get in the touristy areas. The hotel sits in this sweet spot where you feel connected to real Roman life, but you’re still close enough to all the major sites that you’re not spending half your day on transportation. And parking – if you’re brave enough to drive in Rome – is actually manageable in this area, which is saying something.

Very handy location for sightseeing. Not too far from airport bus drop off. Loris’ instructions were perfect. Jacuzzi bath if you want to.
What could be improved: Memory foam mattress wasn’t to my liking. Too firm. It’s a personal opinion.Superb – Marija from Germany – 7 May 2025 (9/10)
The location is perfect, there are great connections to the metro and buses, and the most popular locations are only 2 km away on foot. There are many bars, restaurants, and bakeries in the neighborhood. The owner sent us a perfect little list of places where we can eat breakfast, pasta, and pizza. That was awesome. The apartment wasn't very spacious, but adorable and very clean. There were two of us in there, and there was enough space for us. The owner was very friendly and available via WhatsApp. I personally was worried it would be difficult to enter automatically, but the owner sent us a great instruction video, and we were in the apartment just 5 minutes later.
