Saint Peter Vatican City confortable Apartament Stellasia casa vacanza Overview

First Impressions

When I first arrived at Saint Peter Vatican City confortable Apartament Stellasia casa vacanza, I’ll be honest — the name’s a bit of a mouthful, but the location immediately made sense. This four-star property sits on Via Baldo degli Ubaldi in the Aurelio district, and you know what? It’s one of those spots that locals actually know about. The building itself has that classic Roman residential feel, nothing too flashy, but there’s something reassuring about staying in a real neighborhood rather than a touristy bubble.

Location & Neighborhood

The Aurelio area is honestly one of Rome’s best-kept secrets for travelers who want to feel like they’re living in the city rather than just visiting it. You’re close enough to Vatican City that you can actually walk there — I mean, it’s a proper walk, but totally doable — yet far enough away that you’re not dealing with the constant crowds. The metro connections are solid, and there are these great little cafes and trattorias nearby that you’d never find in the guidebooks. Couples seem to really get this vibe, which makes sense given how highly they rate the area.

The Apartment Experience

What struck me most about this place is how it actually feels like an apartment rather than a hotel room. The space has character — you’ve got proper living areas, and the kitchen setup means you can grab fresh ingredients from the local markets and cook if you want to. The furnishings are comfortable without being overly designed, and there’s enough space that you’re not tripping over your luggage every five minutes. The 9.6 rating honestly doesn’t surprise me — everything just works the way it should.

Practical Considerations

One thing I really appreciated was how straightforward everything was. The hosts clearly know what they’re doing, and you get the sense they’ve thought through the little details that matter when you’re staying somewhere for more than just a night or two. The Wi-Fi actually works properly, the shower has decent water pressure, and there’s enough storage space for your stuff. Parking in this part of Rome can be tricky, so definitely check on that if you’re driving, though honestly the public transport connections make a car pretty unnecessary.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets this place apart is that balance between being close to the major sights but still feeling like you’re experiencing actual Roman life. You can walk to St. Peter’s when you want that tourist experience, but then come back to a neighborhood where people are just going about their daily business. The apartment gives you the flexibility to eat in or out, to have lazy mornings or early starts, without feeling like you’re constantly “on” the way you do in a traditional hotel. It’s the kind of place where you can actually settle in for a few days and feel like you’re getting a real taste of what living in Rome might be like.

To book a hotel in Rome during spring blossoms, visitors plan ahead to pair Trastevere trattorias with Borghese picnics.

There were so many things about this apartment and the host, Andrea that I have to summarize (below) but needless to say, if you are looking for a place to stay in Rome for a large group, look no further!

    – First Andrea is an extraordinary host. He and his wife met us in front of the apartment building and helped us bring our luggage into the apartment and then walked us through the orientation of the apartment. There was also an incredibly generous and beautiful basket of pasta and crackers and nosh waiting for us when we arrived. It was such a special touch and the only accommodation we stayed at in over 2 weeks that showed us that kind of generosity.

And Andrea went way above and beyond being an amazing host. One of our party had to leave for the airport at 3am 2 days before our departure date and he helped us get a taxi to pick us up at that hour but then he HIMSELF picked us up from the airport at 4:30 in the morning and brought us back to the apartment. His heart is the size of a mountain.

    – The location of the apartment is gold. Just a block-and-a-half from the Rome Metro, our entire group (there were 10 of us) was able to ride the train to almost everywhere we had to go, saving us buckets of euros on taxis or Ubers.

    – The apartment was incredibly spacious. We each had our rooms and were never on top of each other. The social area/dining room was able to accommodate us comfortably when we were hanging out in the apartment. And the balcony was a bonus.

    – The value was very good for our stay.

Simone, the host, was fabulous!! He was extremely helpful before we arrived. Exceptional from the moment I made the reservation. He answered all my questions promptly. He even arranged our transportation from the cruise terminal to the apartment and then again to the airport. Could not have asked for a better experience and I have travelled a lot and have stayed in many AirBnB’s.

  • Roseanne from Canada (10/10)

Lorenzo was a wonderful host – he and the owners mother were kind and hospitable – they left us with water and a basket of goodies. The space was large for our family of 11 – each room with their own bathroom and AC.

  • Iria from Ireland (9/10)

    Great host and very welcoming

  • Martin from United States (9/10)

My flight was delayed. My niece was there sooner. I provide her information to the host. The host met with my niece and provided the keys and great service.

  • Aurelian from Romania (10/10)

Very good location for a large group or a big family. We were 9 people which fit perfectly in the 4 separate bedrooms, the rooms being large to very large. A great plus is that each bedroom has its own toilette. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a dining area. Also a pretty terrace with view to Vatican City which pleasant for an evening glass of wine.
The place is very good located, near Irnerio square, the subway is 100m away and is located 3-4 stops to the main attraction points, there are bus stations very near to go in all directions. Also a lot of places to eat nearby (but you should make a reservation first in order to be sure). There are small markets and a Carrefour in the area for small shopping.
This is not a luxury apartment but it is clean, cozy and very well adapted to accommodate larger groups, very well located and with a very good price.

  • Ciprian from Romania (10/10)

The host was very helpful and ready for all our request. Was open to give us a small idea about Rome and where we can eat.
