Hotel Description

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to Rose Inn Guest House on Via Daniele Manin – I mean, it’s literally a five-minute walk from Termini Station, and usually that means tourist trap territory. But you know what? This place completely surprised me. The building itself has this understated elegance that you don’t really notice until you’re inside, and then it hits you that someone actually put thought into making this feel like a home rather than just another crash pad for jet-lagged travelers.

The location is actually brilliant once you understand Rome a bit. Sure, you’re close to the main station (which, let’s be real, is super convenient when you’re dragging luggage around), but Via Daniele Manin is tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the chaos of tourists wandering around with maps at all hours. I could walk to the Baths of Caracalla in about fifteen minutes, and getting to the Colosseum was maybe twenty minutes on foot – though honestly, I ended up taking the metro from Termini most days because Rome in August is no joke. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel where you’ll see actual Romans going about their daily business, grabbing coffee at the little bar on the corner, walking their dogs in the early evening. There’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that doesn’t feel like it exists solely for tourists.

What really won me over was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about the details. My room was on the third floor (there’s an elevator, thank god), and I remember being struck by how quiet it was despite being so close to the station. The windows actually block out the city noise, which is harder to find than you’d think in Rome. The breakfast setup was simple but done right – good coffee, fresh pastries from somewhere local, not the sad continental spread you get at chain hotels. And when I mentioned I was trying to figure out the best way to get to Trastevere for dinner, the guy at the front desk didn’t just point me toward a taxi – he actually drew me a little map showing the tram route and mentioned which stop would put me closest to the restaurants I’d want. That kind of local knowledge makes such a difference when you’re trying to navigate a city like Rome. The whole experience felt less like staying at a hotel and more like crashing at a friend’s place who happens to really know their neighborhood.

Reviews

  • Highly recommended, we would come back any day! – Bogdan from Romania – 30 June 2025 (10/10)

Excellent location, close to tourist attractions and toTermini station. Good restaurants in the closest proximity, Santa Maria Maggiore papal church is 100 m away. The property is wonderfully designed, all brand new and the personel highly welcoming and happy to assist

What could be improved: Nothing to mention

  • Very nice stay in Roma – Dem_zach from Greece – 27 June 2025 (10/10)

Excellent service by the Hosts. Luca and Valentina were very friendly and helpful! Very close to the Termini Station with connections to nearly all destinations by urban buses. The rooms were excellent since this floor was recently open to visitors. Veru close to Santa Maria Maggiore. The surrounding area although visibly less cared for by the Municipality is actually quite nice! Right opposite the entrance is a very nice typical Caffe to have excellent coffee and croissant (typically in piedi as the Italians do).

What could be improved: Could be a bit less expensive although it is really a very nice set of rooms.

Our host was extremely helpful and went above and beyond our requests. He recommended an amazing restaurant close by Urban Pasta for dinner!!

What could be improved: only wish would be seating on the balcony and wine glasses and crank in the room. The host will supply the glasses and the wine crank on request.
