Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Room 230 Roma Luxury Suites? The name actually makes sense – it really is just suites, and they’re tucked right into this gorgeous historic building on Via Nazionale. I mean, the address literally tells you everything: 230 Via Nazionale, so they named it Room 230. Simple, but somehow it works. The location is honestly perfect if you’re doing the classic Rome thing – you’re maybe a seven-minute walk from Termini Station (super handy for airport trains), but more importantly, you can stroll to the Forum in about fifteen minutes without breaking a sweat. The street itself is this wide, tree-lined avenue that feels more elegant than touristy, if that makes sense.

The suites themselves feel properly Roman – high ceilings, those beautiful old windows that actually open (you’d be surprised how rare that is), and the kind of marble in the bathrooms that makes you wonder how old this building really is. What I really appreciated was the space, honestly. These aren’t those cramped European hotel rooms where you’re climbing over your suitcase to get to the bathroom. The living areas are generous, and most suites have proper dining tables where you can actually spread out with maps and guidebooks – or just eat takeout gelato like a civilized person. The beds are solid too, none of that saggy mattress nonsense you sometimes get in boutique places.

Here’s the thing about the neighborhood that most people don’t realize until they’re there: Via Nazionale is where actual Romans shop and eat, not just tourists. There’s this fantastic little alimentari about two blocks down where you can grab proper prosciutto and decent wine for way less than you’d pay near the Spanish Steps. The street can get a bit busy during rush hour – it’s a main thoroughfare after all – but the suites are set back enough that you’re not hearing every Vespa that goes by. Parking is typical Rome chaos, but honestly, you don’t need a car here. The metro stop is right there, and everything worth seeing is either walkable or a quick ride away. I stayed during shoulder season in October, and the area had this perfect mix of energy without the summer crowds. Check-in was smooth, staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood (they pointed me toward this little trattoria that doesn’t even have a sign), and the 8.4 rating feels about right – it’s really well-executed without being flashy about it. If you want to feel like you’re staying in Rome rather than just visiting it, this place gets it right.

Reviews

  • Nice and quite place in a spot perfect to reach every part of Rome – Samuele from Italy – 26 June 2025 (9/10)

Wonderful and quite place near Termini Station. Staff is very kind. Rooms are large and comfortable

  • Great location and welcoming staff with some issues in the end! – Sheweararmani from United Kingdom – 17 June 2025 (8/10)

The staff was super sweet, the location is brilliant. They also made special arrangements for my birthday – decorations and some snacks in my room! I would recommend this for a solo/couples trip <3

What could be improved: Since its for couples the shower is just in the room, but during my 2nd day it starting spilling (maybe a drain issue) and there was water in the room. They did come by to fix it in sometime but I had to wait as there was nobody at reception.
On the last day, my flight was quite delayed so I sat in the lounge to charge my phone and leave a bit later (FYI they do not keep your luggage.)
I had only been in the lounge for less than an hour and the staff kept asking me when I am planning to leave and told me the address of the luggage storage, again? Felt like they wanted me to leave but I am unsure, maybe it was a language issue?

  • Good – Tatjana from Slovenia – 25 May 2025 (7/10)

    Good location

What could be improved: Smaller than expected and no luxury, rather dark

  • Our stay at 230 Roma Luxury Suites was delightful making our time in Rome unforgettable. – Paul from United Kingdom – 13 March 2025 (8/10)

The attentive staff made our time in Rome truly enjoyable, the location was perfect for exploring the city and only 5 minutes’ walk to the train station, highly recommend it for a Rome getaway!

What could be improved: If you are looking for a hotel environment this wouldn’t be for you, it is individual suites within an apartment building and the rooms are starting to look a little tided so they could do with redecorating but if your looking for a place to stay that is clean, comfortable & in a great location to explore Rome, I’d recommend Room 230 Roma Luxury Suites.

  • nice place to stay – Brunilda from Albania – 16 January 2025 (9/10)

I liked the location of Room 230 Roma Luxury Suites. It is very central and near the main attractions of Rome like Piazza Venezia or Via del Corso. The metro station and the train station are very close too. Breakfast was nice and the staff was very collaborative. The room was comfortable.

What could be improved: The toilet was really small and the shower was not very comfortable. The room was comfortable but small. Breakfast was served in the room which on one side is nice but on the other you had to give the exact breakfast time a night before, which sometimes might be a problem.

  • Great stay in Rome – Sam from United Kingdom – 4 October 2024 (8/10)

The staff was very friendly and made us feel welcome.
Location is great, room had everything that you need and it was comfortable.

    What could be improved: nothing

  • Saphire of Rome – Pekka from Finland – 7 September 2024 (9/10)

For our expectation this room was surprisingly good. Clean, really quiet, perfect location, etc. Also the preordered breakfast was excellent and tasty.

  • Very good – Roslynn from New Zealand – 12 August 2024 (8/10)

Lovely room and a great location

What could be improved: The shower is in the corner of the bedroom which is slightly different

  • Good location good staff. – Martin from United Kingdom – 27 July 2024 (7/10)

It was clean and tidy .

What could be improved: It was not a hotel as such , just rooms in a building.

  • Superb – Parvin from Azerbaijan – 24 July 2024 (9/10)

It was 15 min walking to city center, also Termini station. Also staff were very helpful, breakfast was delicious.
