The intimate scale — it’s tucked away on the seventh floor of a classic Roman building — immediately sets it apart from those massive tourist hotels downtown.

Here’s what I love about this location: you’re actually living like a Roman, not just visiting. The Appio Latino district gives you that authentic neighborhood feel, with local cafés where the barista remembers your order and small trattorias that don’t have English menus. You know what’s brilliant though? You can still reach the Colosseum in about 15 minutes by metro — the Arco di Travertino station is practically around the corner. Plus, and this is huge for Rome, they offer free parking. I mean, finding parking in central Rome usually costs more than dinner.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in had this perfect balance of modern comfort and Roman character — think exposed brick details but with excellent Wi-Fi and air conditioning that actually works. What struck me most was the attention to detail; there’s clearly thought put into every corner, from the lighting that creates this warm, romantic atmosphere to the quality linens that make you want to sleep in. The windows open onto typical Roman rooftops, and if you’re lucky enough to get one of the higher floors, you’ll catch glimpses of ancient ruins in the distance.

Neighborhood Dining and Daily Life

The area around RomAmourHouse is where you’ll find some of Rome’s best kept culinary secrets. There’s this incredible family-run restaurant just two blocks away — Checchino dal 1887 — that’s been serving traditional Roman cuisine since, well, 1887. But honestly, even the corner pizzeria serves slices that put most tourist-trap places to shame. Morning coffee culture here is the real deal too; you’ll quickly learn to drink your cappuccino standing at the bar like everyone else, and it somehow tastes better that way.

  This is a very nice apartment with 3 separate bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It is very well equipped with everything you need for a few days trip to Rome. It’s located in 5 min walk to a metro station. The owner is very nice lady, she was always online for my questions.

  The apartment was spacious and comfortable. Perfect for 6 people. Located in a nice and quiet area, quite far from the city center but close to a metro station. The host was extremaly kind and helpful, she even ordered a taxi to the airport for specific hour. Definately a lovely place to stay!
