Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Roma Naif Rooms? The name actually makes sense once you’re there – it’s got this refreshingly straightforward, no-nonsense vibe that’s honestly pretty rare in Rome. I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from Termini Station on Via Principe Eugenio, which sounds chaotic but is actually perfect if you know the area. Yeah, you’ll hear some street noise during the day, but by evening it settles down, and honestly, the trade-off for being able to roll out of bed and catch an early train to Florence is worth it.
The rooms themselves are clean and smartly designed – someone clearly thought about how to make a smaller space work without feeling cramped. The beds are surprisingly comfortable (I’m picky about this), and there’s enough storage that you’re not living out of your suitcase for a week. What I really appreciated was how the staff actually knew their neighborhood. When I asked about getting to Trastevere without dealing with tourist crowds, the guy at the front desk didn’t just point me toward the obvious metro route – he told me about the bus that drops you right by Santa Maria, and he was right. These are the kind of local insights that make a difference when you’re trying to see Rome like you live there, not just passing through.
The whole area around Esquilino gets a bad rap from some guidebooks, but honestly, it’s one of the most authentic parts of central Rome. You’ve got the covered market at Piazza Vittorio (incredible produce, by the way), real neighborhood trattorias where you’re not paying tourist prices, and you’re still walking distance from the Colosseum and Roman Forum. I actually ended up eating at this little Eritrean place around the corner twice – the kind of spot you’d never find if you stayed in the touristy areas near the Spanish Steps. The 7.9 rating feels about right; it’s not luxury, but it’s solid, reliable, and the location gives you options. If you’re the type who wants to duck back to your room between morning sightseeing and evening wandering, or if you’re using Rome as a base for day trips, this place just works. Plus, there’s something satisfying about staying somewhere that feels like part of the actual city rather than a tourist bubble.

Superb – Katerina from North Macedonia – 22 June 2025 (9/10)
Room was fine for short stay. Location ok but if you use public transport. For walking it's kind of far to visit everything. Host was helpful and polite.
What could be improved: Shower in the bathroom dirty with mull and no desk for stuff inside. The bathroom except the shower was good equiped. We had a fabulous trip. Made much easier by being close to the train station. – Dorothy from United Kingdom – 11 October 2024 (8/10)
The location was great to access local eateries and trains as well as buses.
What could be improved: A little bit noisy at night from the busy road.. We would have liked a kettle in our room.Close to Termini, recently renewed, awesome staff! – Emilio from Italy – 2 October 2023 (8/10)
Good location close to Termini station, like 15 min walk. Super friendly staff, very helpful and able to reply in real time. Newly renewed apartment with good furniture. Lovely old style elevator!
What could be improved: Nothing really to complain, maybe the area is not one of the safest in Rome but it’s enough to be careful and it’s definitely not the owner’s fault!Superb – Daniel from Czech Republic – 5 August 2023 (9/10)
What could be improved: Cold water in the shower.

What could be improved: There was a problem with the hot water for the first day. The water was warm-ish but not hot enough to take a shower. Fortunately, the host offered her support and by the evening we could take a proper showerSuperb – Gabrielle from Austria – 11 September 2022 (9/10)
