Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Rhome Hosting? The address sounds intimidating – Viale dei Bastioni di Michelangelo is quite a mouthful – but honestly, once you’re there, it feels like you’ve stumbled onto one of Rome’s best-kept secrets. The building sits in Prati, which I actually prefer to the touristy areas because you get this authentic Roman neighborhood vibe without sacrificing convenience. It’s primo piano (first floor for us Americans), so no endless elevator waits, and the entrance on Scala C means you’re tucked away from street noise but still ridiculously close to everything that matters.
The Prati district is where Romans actually live and work, which means you’ll find yourself grabbing morning coffee alongside locals heading to the office instead of dodging tour groups. I mean, you’re literally a ten-minute walk from the Vatican Museums, but here’s the thing most people don’t realize – you can also hit Via Cola di Rienzo for some serious shopping, and the produce market on Via Andrea Doria is incredible if you want to grab fresh ingredients. The metro connection at Lepanto is right there too, so getting to the Colosseum or Spanish Steps is actually easier than staying in the centro storico where you’d be walking everywhere.
What really sold me on this place though was the attention to detail that only comes from hosts who actually care about the experience. The 9.5 rating isn’t just some inflated number – you can feel it in how thoughtfully everything’s arranged. The rooms have this perfect balance of Roman elegance without being stuffy, and honestly, the beds are better than what you’ll find in most hotels twice the price. The building itself has character (it’s Rome, so obviously it’s got history), but they’ve modernized things where it counts – reliable wifi, great water pressure, air conditioning that actually works during those brutal July afternoons.
I was there during Easter week, which is absolutely chaotic everywhere else in Rome, but this little pocket of Prati stayed relatively sane. You could walk to St. Peter’s for the crowds and ceremony, then retreat back to your peaceful base where the biggest decision was whether to grab aperitivo at the enoteca downstairs or venture out to one of the family-run trattorias that dot the neighborhood. The hosts – and I use that term intentionally because they’re not just running a business, they’re genuinely invested in making sure you experience Rome properly – left recommendations that weren’t just the obvious tourist spots but places they’d actually take their own friends.
Look, Rome can be overwhelming, especially if it’s your first time. But staying at Rhome Hosting in Prati gives you this perfect launching pad where you can dive into the chaos when you want it and retreat to something that feels almost residential when you need to recharge. The fact that it’s earned 4 stars and that 9.5 rating isn’t marketing fluff – it’s just what happens when someone puts real thought into hospitality instead of just providing a place to sleep.

The location was superb! Walking distance to the Vatican and nearby restaurants. The highlight was meeting our host, Nicolo, who kept in contact with us since the very beginning. He gave us local recommendations and was extremely friendly and kind. We highly recommend staying at Rhome Hosting – Nicolo went above and beyond for our first stay in Roma!
Would highly recommend Nicolo and his apartments at Rome Hosting – Maria from Australia – 17 June 2025 (9/10)
Excellent host! Communicated clearly and consistently and was very kind and helpful and helped with any of our requests.
Location is perfect being right next to Vatican and close to Metro.
Great there was a lift too for carrying our luggage.
Clean, comfortable and secure.
What could be improved: Unfortunately the lack of hot water was a bit disappointing and the wifi in our room didn’t work. Small detail as we were hardly there.Great location, super helpful host…Nicolo was very responsive, had great recommendations for restaurants, and very kind. – Haroon from United States – 15 June 2025 (10/10)

– Best Location (Vatican Right next to your Window)
– best Host (Nicolò was wonderful, helped us with private parking, gave restaurant suggestions etc…)
– safe area
– room was nice, shower was working (which is not in all Italian hotel rooms the case)
– air condition (which was absolutely necessary in Rome)
Thank you so much Nicolò, we would love to come back to you soon!11/10 – Michelle from United States – 5 June 2025 (10/10)
Nicolò was such a kindhearted host who went above and beyond to make our stay in Rome so great! In addition to being available for our questions he also provided us with many great recommendations for food in Rome, which was very appreciated given how big the city is! The property itself is very clean and comfortable. The location can not be beat as it is extremely close to the Vatican as well as several bus stops and the Ottaviano metro station so that you can easily get to other attractions. The building also has a lift, which is great for those with heavy luggage or who use a wheelchair.
What could be improved: Everything was great!Superb – Tomasz from Poland – 1 June 2025 (9/10)
Very good and helpful host. He will do everything to make your stay the best you could dream of in Rome. Perfect contact. Room ideal for quick sightseeing. View of the Vatican walls. Close to the entrance to the Vatican museum
