Residenze Serventi Longhi Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Residenze Serventi Longhi on Largo Brindisi, you immediately get the sense this isn’t your typical Roman hotel. It’s tucked into the San Giovanni neighborhood — honestly, one of those areas that feels authentically Roman without the tourist chaos. The building itself has this elegant, residential feel that makes you think you’re staying at a well-connected friend’s place rather than just another four-star property. The moment you step inside, you’re greeted with warm hospitality and thoughtful design choices that set the tone for your entire stay.
Location & Neighborhood
San Giovanni is actually brilliant for couples who want to experience Rome like locals do. You’re close enough to the major sites (the Colosseum is totally walkable), but far enough away that you can grab an espresso in the morning without fighting through crowds of tour groups. The metro station is right there, which — trust me — you’ll appreciate after a long day of sightseeing. I mean, there’s something to be said for being able to duck into a proper Roman trattoria around the corner instead of those overpriced places near the Pantheon. The neighborhood itself offers a genuine slice of Roman life, with local shops, cafes, and markets that reflect the authentic character of the city.
The Accommodation Experience
The room I stayed in felt more like a well-appointed apartment than a hotel space, which explains why couples rate this place so highly. There’s actual space to spread out, and the design strikes that perfect balance between modern comfort and Italian character. You know what really impressed me? The attention to details that matter — good lighting for reading, proper storage space, and a bathroom that doesn’t require contortionist skills to use the shower. Every element has been carefully considered to enhance your comfort and relaxation during your stay.
Dining & Amenities
While there isn’t a full restaurant on-site, the breakfast setup is quite thoughtful, and honestly, being in San Giovanni means you’re spoiled for choice when it comes to authentic Roman dining. The staff seems to genuinely know the neighborhood — they pointed me toward this incredible family-run place just two blocks away that I never would have found otherwise. There’s also convenient parking available, which is practically a miracle in Rome if you’re driving. The combination of in-house breakfast service and proximity to excellent local dining options makes this property particularly appealing for travelers seeking both convenience and authentic experiences.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.3 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s the kind of place that gets the fundamentals absolutely right without trying too hard to impress. The location gives you the best of both worlds — easy access to everything Rome has to offer, but in a neighborhood where you can actually breathe and feel like you’re experiencing the real city. For couples especially, there’s something romantic about staying somewhere that feels residential and intimate rather than corporate and bustling. You’ll find yourself planning to come back, which is honestly the best compliment you can give any place. This property truly understands what modern travelers seek in their Roman getaway.

We had a great stay! The room was very comfortable and clean, and it was in a great location – walking distance to everything. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Sara was friendly and met all our needs as best as she can. The room- bed, toilet, everything was clean. We even got wine for free as part of their service. Elevator was convenient.
Hana from Croatia (9/10)
We travelled as family of 4. The room was very spacious and comfy. The beds are great for sleeping. The cleanliness of the room was really on high level and that is really important for me. We also get bottle of wine, bottled water was always available. Emiliano is really great host. He waited for us even earlier since our flight was very early, also he provided us really good advises regarding the Rome and travelling via Rome.
The residenze is placed in very safe neigourhood and were able to walk to every and each place in Rome that we wanted to see. You dont have to use the public traffic at all if you like to walk like we do, but if you want to use public traffic under the residenze there is metro and tram station, and near is bus station. We would recommend this place to everyone because it is really, really good. One of the best that we had a chance to be in our Europe cities.Leskaj from Albania (9/10)

It’s close to restaurants, metro and bus links. You’re within walking distance to the colosseum. Roughly 20 minute walk. It’s a bit hard to locate at first. Brown door, next to Alice pizza. 3rd floor. Emilio was very welcoming and waited for us to arrive.
