Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to the Residenza Tritone, I almost missed it entirely. The entrance is tucked right into Via del Tritone, and if you’re not paying attention (which I wasn’t, because I was busy dodging Roman traffic), you might walk right past. But that’s actually part of what makes this place special – it feels like a well-kept secret sitting in the middle of one of Rome’s busiest areas.

The thing about staying here is that you’re literally in the thick of everything without the chaos that usually comes with it. I mean, the Trevi Fountain is a three-minute walk – and I’m talking a leisurely stroll, not a power walk. But here’s what the guidebooks don’t tell you: early morning is when you want to hit the fountain, around 7 AM, before the tour groups descend. From the Residenza, you can actually hear the fountain at night if you open your windows, which is either romantic or keeps you awake, depending on your perspective. The Spanish Steps are right there too, and honestly, the whole Spagna area becomes your neighborhood. You’ll find yourself grabbing morning coffee at the same bar on Via del Corso, nodding to the same shopkeepers – it’s that kind of place.

What really got me about this guest house was how they managed to create this calm, almost residential feel while being surrounded by total tourist madness. The rooms have this understated elegance – not flashy or over-the-top, just… comfortable in a way that makes you feel like you’re staying at a well-traveled friend’s apartment. The staff actually knows the neighborhood, too, which sounds obvious but isn’t always the case. They’ll tell you which entrance to use for the Galleria Alberto Sordi when it’s crowded, or where to find a decent gelato that isn’t tourist-priced (there’s a spot on Via delle Muratte that locals frequent). The building itself has that Roman character – you know, the kind where the elevator is tiny and makes interesting sounds, but somehow that adds to the charm rather than detracting from it. Parking is basically impossible in this area, but they’ll point you toward the Villa Borghese garage if you’re driving, though honestly, you won’t need a car once you’re here. The metro’s right at Barberini, and everything worth seeing is walkable. Just bring comfortable shoes because Roman cobblestones are beautiful but unforgiving.

Reviews

  • Nice room in good area – Cogan from Israel – 14 June 2025 (9/10)

Nice size of the room, was clean and had everything we needed. Great location

What could be improved: Steps to the room, was hard with the luggage

  • Very good – Bayramova from Azerbaijan – 13 June 2025 (8/10)

Location was perfect,3 mins from Trevi fountain. Near starbucks, coffee shops, shopping stores etc. Host allowed us to check-in at 09:00, quite nice.💖

  • Despite wee gripes listed above, the positive heavily outweigh. We had an awesome time and can’t wait to return. We will – Charlie from United Kingdom – 13 June 2025 (9/10)

    – Location right at Trevi Fountain, central for attractions, and amidst the amazing streets and restaurants – amazing.
    – Character of the apartment, such traditional and enchanting decor .
    – Aircon so handy to keep us cool even in the evening when sleeping.
    – Felt very safe & secure ..
    – staff met us on arrival and so cool. Maid very nice just not great at cleaning.

What could be improved: – small windows literally one foot down from the exceptionally high ceilings, couldn’t open and lounge window had three mis-sized curtains constantly closed.
High bathroom mirror with no curtain and outside could see in directly at me taking a shower!
    – mirrors and unit tops completely dusty despite daily maid .
    – two cups and two glasses; but no cutlery – can’t stir your cuppa. No cork screw sadly!

  • Superb – Sharona from Israel – 19 May 2025 (9/10)

  • Great location for a short stay in Rome. – Kristina from Spain – 26 April 2025 (8/10)

It was centrally located, clean and quiet. The room felt homey and they accommodated 3 travellers really well.

What could be improved: It was a little confusing getting in and understanding the keys at first and the room was quite dark. No natural light.

  • Superb – Ahmad from United Kingdom – 13 April 2025 (9/10)

It was a superb place great location next to Trevi fountain and the town centre and it was a good size room and very clean and good communication highly recommended we would hope to come back .

  • Good location, a bit unfinished still. – Lucas from Brazil – 6 October 2024 (8/10)

    Nice location, room was ok

What could be improved: Could be a bigger room for five people. Some parts were unfinished or messy looking. Missing essentials such as a trash can.

  • charming hotel in a great location for the tourist visiting the eternal city. – Sal from United States – 29 September 2024 (9/10)

big room, very clean and close to old Rome center, restaurants, taxis, and buses.

What could be improved: very poor sound proofing, you can hear everything from rooms next and above you. this is common in these very old buildings, but still annoying.

  • Quite room……in the perfect lo walk to ancient sites…. – Alan from United States – 11 August 2024 (8/10)

    no breakfast

What could be improved: No kettle for hot water

  • This place is safe, centrally located, and a great value! – Sonya from United States – 19 June 2024 (9/10)

The location is superb! Also, the building overall is very safe. You can watch the full review here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=huyx1_G702Y

What could be improved: The check in process was difficult and we ended up waiting outside for 45 minutes trying to get ahold of the property manager so that he could electronically buzz us in.
