Hotel Description
You know what? I’ve stayed in a lot of Roman apartments over the years, and this place on Piazza dei Crociferi really surprised me. I mean, when you first walk up – and yeah, it’s a bit of a climb to the fourth floor, no elevator – you’re thinking “okay, another cramped Roman rental.” But then you open those windows and boom, there’s the Trevi Fountain right there. Not like a distant glimpse either, but actually close enough that you can hear the water cascading at night when the crowds thin out.
The apartment itself is honestly pretty solid for a 4-star place. The furnishings aren’t Instagram-perfect, but they’re comfortable and everything works (which, let’s be real, isn’t always guaranteed in Rome). What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets once the evening tourists clear out – around 9 PM the piazza settles down and you can actually enjoy that fountain view without feeling like you’re living in a theme park. The kitchen’s small but functional, though I’d recommend grabbing groceries from the little market on Via del Tritone rather than the touristy spots right around the fountain. The owner was pretty responsive when I had questions about the heating (February in Rome can be surprisingly chilly), and check-in was smooth – they meet you at the building, which is helpful because the entrance isn’t super obvious from the street.
Here’s the thing about this location that most people don’t realize until they’re actually staying here: you’re literally in the heart of everything, but that cuts both ways. During the day, especially weekends and summer months, the noise from the crowds can be intense. I actually started closing the windows around 10 AM and opening them again after dinner. But honestly? Waking up to that view of Bernini’s masterpiece with your morning coffee kind of makes up for it. Plus, you can walk to the Pantheon in about 8 minutes, hit the Spanish Steps in 5, and there’s this fantastic little osteria – Dal Moro – just around the corner on Via dei Maroniti that does the best carbonara I’ve had outside of Trastevere. The rating of 7.7 seems about right – it’s not luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises. If you’re the type who wants to be right in the thick of Roman life and doesn’t mind some daytime chaos for that incredible location, this place works really well.

Reviews
Wonderful location and such helpful hosts – Kristin from Switzerland – 4 January 2025 (9/10)
They were so helpful organising the check in – I had last minute changes to my arrival and they were so kind
Superb – Irene from New Zealand – 25 June 2024 (9/10)
Location
Whilst noisy at night we loved being in the buzz of it
Couldn’t stay in the thick of it for too long but a few days is amazing
What could be improved: Aircon didn’t workBeautiful view, big apartment & ideal location – Nicole from Ireland – 29 November 2023 (9/10)
View of the Trevi fountain was absolutely amazing, even more beautiful in person and location wise the apartment is perfect!
What could be improved: Shower water temperature doesn’t regulate went from super hot to freezing cold therefore wasn’t great to use but the jacuzzi bath was lovely so we didn’t mind too much.Beautiful apartment, incredible view – Kara from United Kingdom – 13 November 2023 (9/10)
Friendly host there on arrival. Didn’t seem to mind about 2 hour delay.
What could be improved: Only complaint was bathroom could be upgraded – terrible smell from drains in smaller bathroom. Appreciate this comes with an older property though. Otherwise perfect!Despite some negativities, it was very enjoyable and beautiful – Öz from Turkey – 5 September 2023 (9/10)
The location is great. You can easily go everywhere on foot. The facility is very clean, you can easily smell the cleanliness as soon as you enter. There is everything you need in the house. There were even umbrellas that were like medicine for us in the sudden rain. Loredana who took care of us was very interested and kind. It was very enjoyable to stay here for us.
What could be improved: The sofa that opened in the living room was very thin and squeaked constantly. It was very difficult to sleep. Also the towels, althoughtehy were clean, were very old and thin. I think the water system in the bathroom is faulty, it is impossible to adjust the water.Either very hot or cold. Taking a shower turned into a nightmare. There is noise from outside yes but it didn't affect us much, but if you are someone who is sensitive to sound while sleeping this might be a problem for youBrilliant location; noisy at night if you’re not a sound sleeper. – Lisa from Australia – 10 May 2023 (8/10)
The location was brilliant – as depicted in the Booking.com photos. Close to lots of great restaurants, shopping & other Rome attractions. Although the interior is in need of a facelift it was very clean & was spacious with a well equipped kitchen.
What could be improved: Despite being told the apartment was very quiet due to the double glazing & window shutters, it was not. (The shutters don’t seal well) Be aware the crowds at Trevi Fountain are there all night as well as during the day!Would I recommend/ stay again…………….. Definitely – Lee from United Kingdom – 29 March 2023 (8/10)
Location is fantastic, 40min walk to Vatican City, 30 min walk to colosseum, 10 min walk to Spanish steps.
Apartment surrounded by restaurants, shops and gelato
Booked transport through the apartment for 55 euros each way and service was great
Our contact person was available when required and was very helpful
Overall fantastic
What could be improved: Decor and furnishings require attention.
Bathrooms need modernisation. One the tap dripped continually, the other had a toilet that continued to flush( to be fair contacted the agent and they did send a plumber round the next day but did not fix), jacuzzi bath takes over an hour to fill
Be advised that the Trevi fountain is a 24/7 attraction so is noisy 24/7 (this did not cause a problem to us but is something to bear in mind)Unbeatable location! – Namrata from Australia – 1 August 2022 (9/10)
Location is amazing. Shops, restaurants, cafes are all near by. We walked to other little attractions and taxis and ubers weren't super expensive either. Bus and train stations are a bit of a trek with luggage though.
Stunning views and great kitchen facilities too.
What could be improved: The bathrooms had a few leaky taps and the shower area is small…but if you are staying here its more for the views and location.Outstanding view – Leah from United Kingdom – 2 June 2024 (9/10)
The view was outstanding. The apartment was very spacious and suited our needs. The host Francesca checked in with us and Guilherme who showed us into the apartment was great and easy to contact and quick to help when we had an issue.
The noise did not bother us at all, we loved people watching in the evenings and the sound of the fountain and hum of the crowd added to the ambience we felt.
What could be improved: The sofa bed was very uncomfortable. The electrics need updating, we were unable to use the washing machine without tripping out the entire electricity in the apartment. We liked the location very much but the furniture needs updating and bathrooms needs updating. When we slept on the sofa – Joanne from United States – 22 April 2024 (7/10)
This apartment was in a great location
What could be improved: It needs some updating on the furniture. And bathrooms.
