Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed in my fair share of Rome apartments, and honestly? This place on Via Labicana surprised me. The name’s a bit of a mouthful – “Rental in Rome Colosseo View Luxury” – but they’re not kidding about that Colosseum view. When you step onto the terrace (and yes, there actually is one), you’re looking straight at those ancient stones. I mean, you can literally see tourists queuing up from your morning coffee spot.
The location is what really got me though. You’re right in Monti, which – if you know Rome at all – is where the locals actually hang out. None of that touristy Trevi Fountain chaos, but you can still walk there in about fifteen minutes if you want to tick it off your list. The building itself sits on this quiet stretch of Via Labicana, and I was worried about traffic noise, but honestly it’s pretty peaceful. You get the occasional bus rumbling by, but nothing like the madness over by Termini. What’s brilliant is you can duck into Cavour metro station in literally two minutes, so getting around is actually easy – though I ended up walking everywhere because, well, it’s Rome and everything’s gorgeous.
The apartment itself feels properly lived-in, you know? Not like those sterile hotel rooms where everything’s bolted down. The kitchen’s got real plates and glasses, there’s a decent shower (crucial after all that walking), and the Wi-Fi actually works – I was video calling family back home without any drama. The whole place has this warm, slightly worn-in feel that I actually prefer to those overly polished places. You can tell someone put thought into the details – good lighting, comfortable bed, and thank god, proper blackout curtains because those summer Roman mornings start early. The host was straightforward too, none of that overly chatty stuff, just clear directions and quick responses when I had questions.
What really sealed it for me was stepping out in the evening. You’ve got Ai Tre Scalini right around the corner – proper neighborhood trattoria where half the menu isn’t even in English – and that whole tangle of streets behind Santa Maria Maggiore to explore. During the day, you’re close enough to hit the big sights without feeling like you’re camping in a postcard. The Colosseum thing isn’t just a gimmick either; watching it light up at sunset from the terrace with a glass of wine is pretty much exactly what you came to Rome for. I stayed five nights and honestly could’ve done ten – it’s got that perfect balance of being in the thick of things but still feeling like you’ve got your own little corner of the city.

The apartment was spacious and clean, and the view and location is amazing. Our host Loredana was so wonderful. After a day of flight delays and trouble we arrived late. She was there to great us with understanding, a positive spirit, and all the info we needed about the property and area. The photos of the property are accurate and realistic. The convenience to restaurants, stores, the Metro, and the Colosseo and Forum is unmatched. Highly recommend.

Overall a lovely place but noisy at night as there is a terrace bar next door. The gift of cookies, wine water tea/ coffee left for us was a treat.
