Hotel Description

So you know how Rome can be absolutely overwhelming with all the tourist traps and overpriced hotels that look nothing like their photos? Well, I stumbled onto the Relais Forus Inn on Via Cavour last spring, and honestly, it’s one of those finds that makes you want to gatekeep it from everyone else. The building itself sits right in Monti – and I mean, if you don’t know Monti yet, it’s basically Rome’s answer to a village tucked inside the city. You’ve got actual Romans living there, not just tourists taking selfies every five seconds.

The location is actually pretty brilliant when you think about it. Via Cavour is this main artery that connects you to everything without being right on top of the chaos. I could walk to the Colosseum in about eight minutes (I timed it because I’m weird like that), but more importantly, I was steps away from all these little wine bars and family-run trattorias that don’t have English menus plastered outside. The hotel itself has this understated elegance – you know what I mean? Not trying too hard to be boutique-y, but clearly someone put thought into the details. My room had these gorgeous high ceilings that made me feel like I was staying in someone’s well-appointed apartment rather than a sterile hotel box.

What really sold me though was the staff’s approach to hospitality. The front desk guy – I think his name was Marco – actually drew me a hand-sketched map showing me how to avoid the tourist crowds at the Pantheon by taking this little side street route. That’s the kind of local knowledge you can’t Google, you know? The rooms are well-appointed without being flashy, and the beds are actually comfortable (travel enough and you’ll know this isn’t a given, even at nice places). I will say the elevator is one of those tiny European ones where you’re basically making friends with whoever else is going up, but that’s pretty standard for Rome. The neighborhood gets wonderfully quiet at night too – you’re close enough to hear some street life but far enough from the main tourist drags that you can actually sleep. I’d definitely stay here again, especially since it feels like you’re experiencing Rome the way locals do rather than just checking famous monuments off a list.

  • Superb – Anya from United Kingdom – 3 July 2025 (9/10)

Really well located – perfect for a trip to Rome! The team were so lovely and communicative as well, and willing to help. I really appreciated that aspect – super friendly and reliable. The room itself was great, very clean, and just what you need for a short stay in Rome.

  • Very very good place to stay near the Termini – Dmitry from United Arab Emirates – 23 June 2025 (9/10)

WOnderful place! Much better than we could expect.
It's 10min walk from the Termini Train station, and usually such locations do not provide nice places to stay. But this time it was a different case! The team was super friednly and helpful, starting from check-in and until the check-out.
Very clean place, providing everything what's needed.
We could even store our luggage while waiting for our train.
Perfect price for what you get.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Exceptional – Ashley from United Kingdom – 20 June 2025 (10/10)

The hotel was booked last min and was amazing, great customer service. Exceptionally clean and also nice and quite 👌, great location walking distance to all the main attractions Rome has to offer, highly recommended hotel.

  • Exceptional – Daniellejoanna89 from United Kingdom – 3 June 2025 (10/10)

Great location, the receptionist is so friendly! Really welcoming and helpful. Check in was easy and a lovely speacial touch with the preseco – thank you!

Felt very at ease to come and go to explore Rome. Room was super luxurious. It was lush in the evening lying in bed with my presecco watching tv! It has everything you need with the added luxury feel

What could be improved: Before we arrived we kept getting messages through the booking.com app from the hotel about transferring money or your booking will be cancelled but we had already paid.

When i contacted the hotel, they advised their booking.com had been hacked. I kept getting the messages for 2 weeks before we arrived. It made me quite wary. But all was fine when we arrived.

This maybe a fault with booking.com and not the hotel. Be wary of messages sending payment links as these will probably scams

  • All you need in a perfect central location – Holly from Australia – 26 May 2025 (9/10)

Great rooms and location with everything you need for your Rome stay!

What could be improved: The shower was a bit cramped and water flow a bit all over the place but otherwise everything was perfect!

  • I fell in love with Rome the whole experience was 101%, hotel, location, staff, local people perfect – Karen from United Kingdom – 21 May 2025 (9/10)

The location of the hotel was perfect walking distance to many main attractions, the staff were great, room was fantastic loved everything about this and will definitely be returning

What could be improved: Nothing if I am being honest
