You know what caught me off guard about Relais Arco Della Pace? The whole check-in situation – you’d think you’re staying at one place, but you actually check in somewhere completely different. I mean, the hotel itself is right by the Arco della Pace (hence the name), but you’ll be trudging over to Palazzo Taverna on Via dei Gabrielli with your luggage first. It’s a bit of a trek, honestly, but once you figure out the system it’s not a big deal. Just don’t be that person showing up at the wrong address looking confused.

The location though – that’s where this place really shines. I’ve walked past that little arch countless times, and most tourists have no idea there’s actually a hotel tucked away there. You’re literally a two-minute stroll from the Pantheon, which sounds touristy until you realize you can grab morning coffee while everyone else is still figuring out the metro system. The Navona area gets absolutely packed during the day, but early mornings and late evenings? It’s got this almost magical quiet thing going on. The rooms themselves are pretty standard for a 3-star – nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable enough. The building has that old Rome character where you can hear your neighbors sometimes, but it’s not party-hostel loud. Just… lived-in, you know?

What I actually love about staying here is how it puts you right in the thick of things without the premium price tag of those bigger hotels closer to the Spanish Steps. You’ll pay tourist prices for dinner anywhere in this neighborhood – that’s unavoidable – but you can duck into some of the smaller trattorias on the side streets where locals actually eat. There’s this little place on Via del Governo Vecchio that does incredible cacio e pepe, and you’d walk right past it if you were staying somewhere more touristy. The 7.5 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow you away, but it won’t disappoint either. Just remember that Rome hotels in general tend to be smaller and quirkier than what you might expect coming from other cities. The staff knows their stuff about the area, which honestly matters more than thread count when you’re trying to navigate this maze of a city.

  Perfect staff! Very helpful and understandable.
  We had to change our travel period despite it was after the due time, but staff were helpful and they have managed it!
  Also we were chance to chose our own room. Our room was really great and big.
  Also hotel has a great terrace that you can experience the old city view from, it was mysterious and amazing!
  We wish we could visit and stay at the hotel again.

  What could be improved: Shower was super small, bad smells would come from the bathroom after showering. Birds nest around the rooms so make a bit of an annoying noise in the mornings.

  The location for this place was perfect, you were immediately in the heart of a bunch of shops, restaurants, and cafes. It was about 45 minute walk to the train station or 30 min taxi ride. I loved that we were able to keep our bags there for as long as we needed before catching the train to our next destination. The staff was very nice, the bathroom was very clean and had daily housekeeping. The shutters were so dark in our room that I could have slept for days without knowing it. The rooftop balcony was gorgeous and had a great view of the city, definitely my favorite part.
  
  What could be improved: Wifi wasn't the strongest if you were using it for work but adequate for just scrolling.

  What could be improved: Couldn’t open the windows because I was facing another apartments with the outdoor fans- did not have any views but the noisy walls. The shower was not in the bathroom yet in the bedroom. Bathroom smelled a lot- maybe a plumbing problem.

  The location is amazing. There is access to a roof top with an amazing view.

  There was a ramp of stairs I dis not expect but luckily the young guy who was doing maintenance was very kind and helped with the suitcases.
