You know what struck me first about Reginella Suites? The address itself – Via della Reginella 2 – sounds like something out of a Renaissance poem, and honestly, that’s pretty much what you get when you stay here. I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from the Pantheon, which is simultaneously amazing and slightly surreal when you step out for morning coffee and there’s this 2,000-year-old architectural marvel just… sitting there.

The suites themselves are what I’d call “refined Roman” – think elegant without being stuffy, with that particular Italian knack for making spaces feel both sophisticated and welcoming. The rooms are actually quite spacious by Rome standards (and trust me, that matters when you’re trying to maneuver around with luggage), and there’s this attention to detail that you notice gradually. The marble in the bathrooms has these subtle veining patterns, the linens are crisp in that way that makes you want to immediately sprawl across the bed, and the windows – well, some of them give you glimpses of the medieval streetscape that’ll make you forget you’re in a bustling capital city. The 7.9 rating makes sense to me; it’s not trying to be the flashiest place in Rome, but it delivers on the fundamentals really well. Check-in was smooth, though I’d recommend arriving after 2 PM because the narrow street can get congested with delivery trucks earlier in the day.

What really sells this place, though, is the neighborhood knowledge you gain just by being here. Via della Reginella sits in this perfect pocket where you’re close enough to the major sights that you can pop over to the Pantheon whenever the mood strikes (seriously, I found myself doing this multiple times), but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the constant tourist chaos. There’s this little enoteca around the corner that the locals frequent – you’ll spot it by the older Roman gentlemen nursing their wine and having animated discussions about football. The morning sounds are particularly lovely: church bells layering over each other, the distant hum of Vespas, and the satisfying clatter of espresso cups from the café downstairs. Honestly, if you’re the type who likes to feel like you’re living in Rome rather than just passing through, this location delivers. Just be aware that like most historic Roman buildings, the elevator is compact and the street noise can filter in during summer evenings when everyone has their windows open – but that’s part of the charm, isn’t it?

  This room was very clean and well-equipped. Compared to our other stays in Europe, the room was quite spacious and comfortable! All staff that we met during our stay were also very lovely and helpful. Location is also very handy!
  
  What could be improved: Wifi wasn't working initially and then when fixed by staff was quite slow and patchy. Also at times a bit loud with the neighbours on the other side of the door.

  Close to the attractions we planned to visit. The staff was very communicative and helpful. They setup our transportation from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the cruise port at the end of our stay. The room was cozy, it had a rustic Italian vibe. Exactly what I expected for the area. They do not provide breakfast however, there is a cute little bistro just steps outside the hotel where you can get food and coffees.
  
  What could be improved: It was a bit of a hassle getting into the hotel, we arrived after normal business hours (2pm) however, they did provide us with detailed information on how to access the building and a video via email and WhatsApp.

  Awesome location. In the center of town. Walking distance to most sightseeing places. very happy to have stayed here. Gracious hosts and very helpful. Best bonus, was a small lift that helped us carry the luggage up to the rooms!

  What could be improved: -check-in was like a labyrinth to be solved by your own as the “reception” closes at 2pm.

  Lovely place in a lovely part of the city. You're a good walking distance from the main tourist attractions and the little cafes and shops close by and excellent value for money. The room is lovely and check in is easy. There are several doors to get through, but the instructions are clear.
  
  What could be improved: They only difficultly was knowing exactly which room was us as it's not clearly marked on the key (out of hours check-in). This might have been down to tiredness, but our second night we did have another couple try and get into our room initially. A little slip in the envelope would have helped.
