Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to the Raeli Hotel Regio on Via Volturno, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place so close to Termini Station. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come from places that don’t try too hard to impress you. The building itself has that classic Roman charm without being flashy about it, and the moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense that the people running this place actually care about what they’re doing.
The location is honestly perfect if you’re doing Rome properly. I mean, sure, you’re right by the central station, but that’s actually brilliant – you can literally walk to the Colosseum in about fifteen minutes, and getting to the Vatican is a straight shot on the metro. What really won me over though was how the staff seemed to know all the little shortcuts around the neighborhood. The guy at reception told me about this tiny trattoria on Via Principe Amedeo that I never would have found otherwise, and it ended up being one of my best meals in Rome. The rooms aren’t going to win any design awards, but they’re clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet considering you’re in the heart of everything. I was worried about noise from the station, but honestly, the windows do a decent job blocking it out – though if you’re a super light sleeper, maybe ask for a room facing the courtyard.
What really sets this place apart is the vibe – it feels like staying with people who genuinely want you to have a good time in their city. The breakfast isn’t fancy, but it’s proper Italian coffee and fresh pastries, and the dining area has these big windows that let in gorgeous morning light. I spent way too much time there planning my days because it felt so relaxed. The whole operation runs smoothly without feeling corporate, if that makes sense. Check-in was quick, the elevator actually works (not always a given in Rome), and when I needed directions to find a pharmacy late one evening, the night clerk didn’t just point me in the right direction – he called ahead to make sure they were still open. Little things like that matter when you’re traveling. With an 8.4 rating, I’d say this place punches well above its weight class, and honestly, for the price point and location, you’d be hard-pressed to find better value in Rome.

Very good – Olivier from United States – 1 July 2025 (8/10)
Close to termini,clean
What could be improved: Lack of drawers to put clothesHad a wonderful stay in the hotel. Very quiet and in central – Viol from United Kingdom – 22 June 2025 (8/10)
The hotel was very clean. Janine at the reception was very helpful and welcoming. She was very nice and always smiling. She was our go to whenever we need some advice or suggestions when it comes to restaurants and tourist spot. We are very thankful to her
What could be improved: There’s no variety when it comes to breakfast. I would suggest mixing it up everyday like making scrambled eggs on some odd days instead of just boiled eggs.
Also the air conditioning is not cold. We had to use our portable fan because the air conditioning is not enough.Superb – Jessica from United Kingdom – 31 May 2025 (9/10)
Clean room, lovely to have a bottle of prosecco in the room
What could be improved: No shower curtainVery good – Ibrahimi from Kosovo – 11 May 2025 (8/10)
The staff
What could be improved: ..Very good – Mundy from Italy – 29 April 2025 (8/10)
Very helpful staff, very clean, great location for Termini and comfortable.
Good location, nice staff and bad shower flow. – Inga from Lithuania – 26 March 2025 (8/10)
Good, clean room with good view! Very nice staff, nice cleaner team!
What could be improved: Twin beds its same like double bed, no space between beds – maybe 1cm:)
Shower – There was no water flow, the tap barely let water flow. There were no shower curtains, and there was nowhere to hang the shower head. There was no way to wash your head due to the lack of water flow.
Breakfast – all the time when we came there was empty of plates, we were waiting for food addition.. it was like empty food tables 😄It was the right choice for the long stay. – Nataliia from Ukraine – 23 February 2025 (9/10)
There were all you need in the room: fridge, big mirror, toothbrush and toothpaste, slippers. Be aware, small room but it is ok, when you are out all day.
What could be improved: Hot water in the lobby. Need to have own cup to bring it into the room. My personal taste – bed too soft, I prefer not so soft.Superb – László from Hungary – 6 February 2025 (9/10)
The staff was very kind and helpfully! The hotel is near at the history center and Termini station (only few minutes by walk).
Very good – Ro from United Kingdom – 5 February 2025 (8/10)
Staff were friendly and very helpful – location for trains, metro and buses was excellent. Hotel was exceptionally clean and tidied every day – fresh towels also provided each day. The room had a safe and a fridge (complimentary water on arrival)
What could be improved: The walls are extremely thin so if your neighbours are talking you can hear everything – also nk double glazing so if your room is located at the front of the hotel be prepared for traffic noiseGood value – Aleksandr from Australia – 27 January 2025 (9/10)
Rooms were fairly spacious and clean. Location was decent with restaurants and convenience stores nearby. Overall we felt the price was very good considering the location and room.
