Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about R22 Apartment? The address itself – Via della Reginella is one of those narrow cobblestone streets that most tourists walk right past without realizing they’re missing something special. I mean, you’re literally tucked between the Pantheon and the Jewish Quarter, which honestly gives you the best of both worlds without the crushing crowds that camp out in the main piazzas.
The apartment itself feels like someone’s stylish Roman friend let you crash at their place – and I mean that in the best way possible. It’s got that effortless Italian elegance thing going on, where everything looks casually perfect but you know there’s real thought behind it. The 4-star rating actually undersells it a bit; the attention to detail reminds me more of those boutique places that charge twice as much. What really got me was how quiet it stays despite being so central – those thick Roman walls do their job, though you’ll still catch the occasional vespa puttering by in the early morning (which, let’s be honest, is part of the charm).
Here’s what I wish someone had told me before I booked: the street is pedestrian-only, so forget about rolling your suitcase right to the door. But actually, that’s part of what makes the location so perfect – you’re on this peaceful little stretch that feels residential, yet you can walk to Trastevere in fifteen minutes or hit Campo de’ Fiori in about the same time. The neighborhood grocery store is literally around the corner on Via del Portico d’Ottavia, and there’s this tiny bakery – I think it’s called Panificio – that does these incredible cornetti that’ll ruin hotel breakfast for you forever. The area gets busy during dinner hours when people are heading to the restaurants in the Jewish Quarter, but by 10 PM it’s just locals walking their dogs and the occasional lost tourist wandering back from the Pantheon. Oh, and if you’re planning to visit in summer, the narrow streets actually provide decent shade during those brutal afternoon hours when Rome turns into an oven. The whole setup just works – you get that authentic Roman neighborhood feel while being close enough to everything that matters, and honestly, after staying here, those big hotels near Termini or Vatican feel like tourist traps in comparison.

Excellent location, walking distant within all the main attractions in city centre considering there were 3 young children. Neighbourhood felt safe and quiet, lots of restaurants nearby

The apartment is in the heart of the Jewish Quarter in Rome. Our stay was an exceptional experience. The location is superb, right in the center of the Jewish Ghetto, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the city. Most of our visit was spent walking, as the apartment is within walking distance of many restaurants, a supermarket, the Pantheon, and even the Colosseum.
Andrea, the host, is a super-host. She is kind, responds to messages very quickly, and was extremely helpful and accommodating throughout our stay.
We highly recommend this apartment for anyone looking to stay in Rome.Hani from Saudi Arabia (8/10)

Pedestrian only street. Jewish community. Very safe and beautiful street, stairwell and apartment. Felt completely safe and relaxed. No issues leaving valuables in the apartment. Closely located to train station, Vatican City, Coliseum and soooooo many restaurants that were beautiful and not expensive (~15 EUR per plate). I would ONLY stay in this area. I would pay the extra $150 a night to stay here over a busy congested area. Worth every added expense.

It was very helpful to work with Andrea via WhatsApp. I had lots of questions and several requests, which were all answered immediately and in a positive manner.

Great Location and Andrea is an excellent host. Apartment is practically in the center of the city, 16 min by foot to fontana di Trevi, 30 min to Vatican and to Colosseo, and 15 min to Tastavere.
We didn’t use metro or bus.
Apartment is very spacious and clean.
We will definitely stay here again.
Thank you Andrea!Elie-nathan from France (10/10)
