Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Quality in Rome? The location is absolutely perfect, but not in that touristy way most people expect. Sure, you’re walking distance from the Colosseum – I mean, it’s literally a 10-minute stroll – but you’re actually staying in Monti, which honestly feels like Rome’s best-kept secret. Via Milano runs right through this neighborhood that’s got more character in one block than most cities have in their entire downtown.

The thing about Monti is that it’s where Romans actually hang out. You’ll step out of the hotel in the morning and there’s this little corner café where the barista already knows how the locals take their espresso, and by day three, he’ll probably remember yours too. The streets here are narrow and cobbled (pack comfortable shoes, trust me), and you get this mix of vintage shops, wine bars, and these tiny restaurants that don’t even have English menus – which is exactly what you want. The hotel itself sits on a relatively quiet stretch, though you’ll still hear the occasional Vespa buzzing by, but that’s just Rome being Rome.

What really impressed me was how the staff actually seemed to know the area beyond just the obvious tourist spots. When I asked about dinner recommendations, the front desk guy didn’t just hand me a generic list – he asked what I was in the mood for and then suggested this incredible little place around the corner on Via del Boschetto that I never would have found otherwise. The rooms are solid for a four-star, nothing fancy but everything works properly (the AC was a blessing in July), and the beds are actually comfortable, not those rock-hard European mattresses you sometimes get stuck with. I stayed on the third floor and could peek out at the rooftops – there’s something magical about Roman terracotta tiles in the early morning light.

The best part though? You can walk to Termini Station in about 15 minutes when you need to catch trains to other cities, but you’re also perfectly positioned to explore on foot. The Roman Forum is basically around the corner, and if you head the other direction, you’ll hit Via del Corso for shopping. But honestly, I found myself just wandering the Monti streets most evenings – there’s this energy here that’s different from the more touristy areas. It feels lived-in, you know?

One heads up: the elevator is tiny (classic European style), so if you’re traveling with huge suitcases, just be prepared for some maneuvering. And while the neighborhood is generally quiet, Friday and Saturday nights can get a bit lively since there are some popular bars nearby – though I actually enjoyed the subtle buzz of people having a good time. The 8.7 rating makes total sense to me; it’s not trying to be the Ritz, but it absolutely nails what most travelers actually want: a comfortable, clean place to sleep in an incredible location with staff who genuinely care about your experience. For the price point and the neighborhood, I’d definitely stay here again.

Reviews

  • Would love to stay here again, highly recommend! – Muzi from France – 2 June 2025 (8/10)

Clean, big room and bathroom. Air condition works perfect. Excellent location, close to the train station and also lots of tourist attractions. Friendly staff.

What could be improved: Not perfectly sound proof, you could hear when other guests are in the hallway and especially entering the door. But it’s bearable.

  • Exceptional – Isis from United States – 25 April 2025 (10/10)

The check in was easy and also stowed my bag for me while I explored the city

  • Great location and great facilities – Maria from United Kingdom – 2 March 2025 (10/10)

This place is in a perfect location a short walk from Termino but in a very nice area. It's also in between both metro A and B so you can get anywhere. We haven't met the staff but Giulia was very responsive and nice. The guest house itself is nice and comfy and also very clean. I really recommend it.

  • Great city location with amazing facilities but pillows could be softer. – David from United Kingdom – 28 February 2025 (9/10)

Facilities were amazing: great shower, TV works well, shower and toilet were good, fridge working.

What could be improved: The pillows were quite hard but if the pillows were softer, it would have been the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at

  • Great location, great facility, friendly staff. – Olga from United Kingdom – 19 January 2025 (10/10)

Spacious room, safe entrance, lift, comfortable bed, foam memory pillows, air conditioning, central heating in the room, tea/coffee, kettle, fridge, safe, towels changed every day. Staff very friendly and helpful, all speak English.

  • Exceptional – Daniela from Bulgaria – 15 November 2024 (10/10)

Perfect location. So close to Coliseum and Trevi. Very sweet girl on the reception.
    Surprise for my birthday.

What could be improved: the walls are thin and you can hear everything. At night it is a problem if there are children in the place

  • A nice hotel in the downtown Rome – Gary from United States – 21 October 2024 (9/10)
