Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first walked up to Principe Amedeo By Rental in Rome, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place on Via Principe Amedeo. The street itself is pretty typical for the Esquilino neighborhood, you know? It’s got that lived-in Roman feel with locals going about their business, a few immigrant-run shops, and honestly, it feels more authentic than those polished tourist bubbles near the Colosseum.
But here’s the thing – this place actually surprised me. The building has that classic Roman apartment vibe (because that’s essentially what it is), and once you get inside, it’s clear someone put real thought into making guests comfortable without trying too hard to be fancy. The rooms are clean and well-maintained, though I mean, don’t expect luxury finishes or anything. What I really appreciated was the attention to practical details – good WiFi, decent water pressure, and rooms that are actually quiet despite being so close to Termini Station. You can hear the occasional train if you really listen, but it’s not the kind of noise that’ll keep you up at night.
The location is actually pretty brilliant if you think about it strategically. Yeah, Termini Station is right there – literally a 3-minute walk – which means you can dump your bags and be exploring within minutes of arriving in Rome. But more importantly, you’re in this genuinely Roman neighborhood where you’ll find those hole-in-the-wall trattorias that locals frequent (there’s this amazing little place called Trattoria Monti just around the corner that does incredible regional dishes). The area around Via Principe Amedeo gets a bad rap sometimes, but honestly, during the day it’s just busy and diverse, and at night it’s actually pretty quiet. Plus, you’re walking distance from Santa Maria Maggiore – one of Rome’s most beautiful basilicas that somehow doesn’t get overrun with tour groups – and the whole Monti district is just a pleasant 10-minute stroll away. I spent my mornings grabbing coffee at the little bar downstairs (well, across the street really) and planning my day while watching Romans rush to work. The staff speaks decent English, which helps, and they’re genuinely helpful with directions and recommendations rather than just trying to sell you expensive tours. For the price point and that 7.9 rating, it makes total sense – you’re getting solid value without any major surprises, good or bad.

Perfect position, very big apartment for families with kids or large group of friends. Everything was perfect. I appreciated A LOT communication with hosts Weronika and Alessandro.
I did check in with Alessandro and he was very welcoming, gentle and easy to agree with.
Big thanks to him and all hosts.

Good location, good communication. Amenities could be better for the price and length of the stay – Pilar from United States – 15 September 2024 (7/10)
What could be improved: The kitchen did not have any paper towels, kitchen towels, soap, etc. The AC was leaking and did not have anything to clean it up with.
Good – Ján from Slovakia – 12 April 2025 (7/10)
Everything was very good. Although the bed sheets were kinda dirty.
Very good – Ee from Malaysia – 21 September 2023 (8/10)
Good location, walking distance to main train station Roma termini.
What could be improved: The facility are old, toilet bowl, bedOverall, the place was functional but lacked comfort, with noisy air conditioning, limited amenities – Patricia from Malaysia – 5 October 2024 (6/10)
We had a fairly good stay at this apartment! It was clean and had all the basic amenities, including towels. The host was thoughtful and provided us with drinking water, even though tap water was drinkable. They were accommodating, waiting for us despite our delayed arrival from the airport, and kept in touch to ensure smooth check-in. While the location is in a quiet neighborhood, it's still fairly accessible by taxi. Overall it was ok.
What could be improved: The apartment was functional but not very cozy, clearly set up just for rentals. The kitchen had limited utensils and cutlery, so don't expect to do much cooking. Bring your own toiletries, as the provided shampoo and body wash only lasted a day, and despite asking, they didn’t replenish the toilet paper, so we had to buy our own. The air conditioning was noisy and kept switching on and off by itself, making it hard to sleep, especially with uncomfortable beds and flat pillows. It also gets quite noisy outside at night if you leave the windows open. Not clean, not in a safe neighborhood – Bardha from Kosovo – 30 October 2024 (3/10)
na
What could be improved: 1. The appartment was not clean, they had clean sheets but the mattress, the pillows were not clean and you could see the stains. All the times we were itching.
2. The appartment was not same as the pictures posted on booking, everything was older and smelling
3.On the first night we didnt have water in the appartment, and the managers did not care. Although the second night it was fixed
4.The location of the appartment was not in a safe neighborhood, one of the nights we stayed there a group of men were trying to enter the building and the person from the comapany that we were in contanct did not even respond when we asked if we should call the police.Viaggio d’affari – Marilena from Italy – 27 May 2025 (9/10)
Stanze ampie. Posizione centrale. Pulizia
What could be improved: NullaVery good – Paulina from Poland – 19 October 2024 (8/10)
Dobra lokalizacja apartamentu. Przestrzeń, wygoda, dużym plusem są 2 łazienki, fajna kuchnia na wspólne posiadówki. Blisko dworca i Coloseum.
What could be improved: Brak. Było ok.
