Hotel Description
Look, I’ve walked past Prime Vatican Suites probably fifty times before I actually stayed there – it’s tucked away on Via La Goletta in this residential pocket of Trionfale that honestly feels more like where Romans actually live than where tourists usually end up. The building itself is one of those classic Roman apartment blocks, and you’ll be buzzing up to the third floor (they call it “interno 3” which just means the third apartment, basically). It’s not fancy, but there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that doesn’t scream “tourist trap.”
What I really appreciate about this place is how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re maybe a fifteen-minute walk to the Vatican walls, but you’re also surrounded by actual Roman life – there’s this fantastic little market on Via Trionfale where locals do their shopping, and the coffee bar downstairs makes an espresso that’ll ruin Starbucks for you forever. The Cipro metro stop is close enough that you can easily get anywhere in the city, but far enough that you’re not dealing with the constant crush of tour groups. I mean, you can actually hear normal street sounds here instead of twenty different languages being spoken at once outside your window.
The suites themselves are… well, they’re honest about being a 3-star place. Clean, functional, with that slightly worn Italian charm that either annoys you or makes you feel like you’re living in a real Roman apartment for a few days. The beds are decent, the wifi works (crucial, obviously), and there’s usually hot water – though like most places in this part of Rome, it takes a minute to get going in the morning. What surprised me was how quiet it gets at night, especially compared to staying near the main tourist areas. You might hear the occasional Vespa puttering by, but it’s nothing like the chaos around Termini or the Spanish Steps. The 7.8 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it does exactly what it promises without any weird surprises or hidden fees. Plus, honestly, you’re saving enough money staying here instead of some overpriced place near the Pantheon that you can afford to eat at actually good restaurants instead of tourist traps.

Good – Peter from United Kingdom – 31 May 2025 (7/10)
Clean
What could be improved: No toilet roll , mattress needed changing- overused, shower needs resealing, little bed was broken underneath but we didn't use that !Clean and confortable but staff needs improvement. – Marina from Germany – 5 May 2025 (7/10)
The room was clean and confortable, good shower, and the location is great for who is going to visit vaticano.
What could be improved: For the 2 days I was there, they failed to provide toilet paper. No staff to be seen during the whole stay. I contacted them about it on whatsapp, also requesting change for the city tax (it is hard to change money on the stores), to which they replied "ok", and then did nothing. Silence. The morning of the check out (which is awfuly early!! 10:30) they send a message saying they cannot change the money and not mentioning the missing toilet paper. I hope they use the 2 euros more I gave them to buy some.Superb – Luiz from Brazil – 23 December 2024 (9/10)
The room was clean and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable. It had a smart TV, which you can connect to your Netflix account and watch movies while resting after long walks in Rome. There were lots of good restaurants and bars nearby, and the parking lot on the corner was very convenient.
Very good – Daniel from Romania – 5 November 2024 (8/10)
the location was excellent
What could be improved: there was mold on the wallsNice stay near vatican – Julieta from United Kingdom – 2 April 2024 (9/10)
Leslie was super kind to us! Always quick to answer our questions and give advice.
We were allowed to leave our luggage in the kitchen both when we arrived and for a few ours after check-out.
The bedroom was big and modern.Very good – Adam from United Kingdom – 13 March 2024 (8/10)
Great online check in service and very friendly support.
High-tech location close to the Vatican – Vinicius from Portugal – 7 February 2024 (8/10)
Great location, close to Vatican, restaurants, and transports.
The staff is friendly and helpful.
The room was very clean, and a great shower.
The system to check in and to open the doors are good, but you’ll need internet on your phone.Recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful room in the center of Rome. – Lauren from Canada – 26 October 2023 (9/10)
The aesthetic was great, everything was clean. The host was in constant contact with me and was very hospitable!
What could be improved: I think the use of the kitchen should be allowed for everyone (not just for those renting the whole suite) as there is the biggest fresh food market in Rome next door, and making tea is basic necessity. Unfortunately we did not have the lock for our safe, so maybe that can be fixed?Very good – George from United States – 15 September 2023 (8/10)
Location was great. Marco was most helpful. I had to call him to guide us into the apartment and then into our room.
What could be improved: It was a bit inconvenient not having a lift. My wife and I are senior citizens; so it was still difficult bringing our small luggages up the stairs.Great city views! Very close to Vatican. Parking garage was close and easy in and out. Nice place! – Don from United States – 2 May 2023 (9/10)
room had a great city view, clean and comfortable
What could be improved: A little hard to get into the property – the lock is very tricky.
