Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Piazzetta de’ Monti Suites? The entrance is so understated you could walk right past it on Via dei Serpenti – but that’s actually part of its charm. This isn’t one of those flashy hotels trying to impress tourists from the sidewalk. Instead, it’s tucked into the fabric of Monti like it’s been there forever, which honestly makes perfect sense once you spend a few days in the neighborhood.
The thing about staying here is that you’re genuinely living in Rome’s most authentic remaining neighborhood, not just visiting it. I mean, step outside and you’re literally surrounded by the kind of small trattorias and wine bars where actual Romans hang out after work. The Colosseum crowds feel like a different world, even though you can walk there in about eight minutes (I timed it). Monti has this village-y feel that’s rare in central Rome – you’ll hear Italian conversations on the street corners, not just tour guides with their little flags. The hotel itself gets this completely. The suites feel more like staying in a well-appointed Roman apartment than a typical hotel room, with enough space to actually unpack and settle in for a bit.
What really sold me was the attention to details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The kitchenettes are properly equipped – not just for show – and the staff knows the neighborhood inside and out. They’ll point you toward the good aperitivo spot on Via del Boschetto (trust me on this one) or tell you which days the little market sets up nearby. The building itself is quiet, which is honestly a miracle in Rome, though you’ll still hear the gentle hum of scooters and street life that reminds you you’re not in some sterile hotel district. Check-in was refreshingly smooth, and parking – well, it’s Rome, so manage your expectations, but they’ll give you actual useful advice about your options. The 9.3 rating makes total sense once you’re there; it’s the kind of place that gets the fundamentals right while giving you that rare feeling of staying somewhere that locals would actually choose if they needed a place in their own city.

This property was absolutely amazing. The location was incredible, one stop away from the central station in the heart of Monti making it an easy walk to a lot of the sights including the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. Vibrant neighbourhood with countless great restaurants and cool shops. The host Alessio was brilliant, great communication from him and also provided me with some amazing recomendations for bars and restaurants. Cannt recommend this proprty enough. Thankyou again Alessio!
What could be improved: The room was a little bit cramped but not a deal breaker given the location!Stay here. You won’t regret it – Nita from United States – 9 June 2025 (10/10)
This was my favorite hotel of my entire Italy trip. The location was perfect. I could see the Colosseum as soon as I walked out the door. It was a 6 minute walk away. I could see the square from my window. I spent time sitting at the fountain eating and people watching. Lots of lovely restaurants nearby. The room was beautiful and clean. The host was super helpful. I would recommend this to anyone.

We has a wonderful stay in Piazzetta de' Monti Suites. Room is facing a piazza with a fountain. Very close to Coliseum. Metro station is right around the corner. The room was very clean, had all the conveniences, even sleepers.

Fantastic location, friendly and responsive host and staff!
Location is very central so of course there is noise from traffic and tourists. Be aware of that if you’re a light sleeper.
Had some difficulty controlling the water temp of the shower, it went back and forth from freezing cold to burning hot…rather tricky to tune!
Appreciated the hospitality of the host and staff and overall would definitely recommend.Exceptional – Ella from United States – 13 April 2025 (10/10)
