Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about this place? The address – Via dei Coronari is one of those narrow cobblestone streets that feels like a secret, even though it’s right in the heart of everything. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from Piazza Navona, but somehow you’ve escaped all that tourist chaos the moment you step inside.
The “panoramic penthouse” part isn’t just marketing speak, honestly. When you get up to the room, the views actually deliver – especially if you snag one of the units facing the right direction. Rome’s terracotta rooftops stretch out like they’re trying to show off, and you can spot some of the major domes if you crane your neck a bit. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets up there, which is saying something because the street level can get pretty lively, especially when the restaurants start filling up around 8 PM. The building itself has that classic Roman character – thick walls, high ceilings, the kind of place that stays cool even when August hits hard.
Now, it’s a 4-star property with an 8.1 rating, which honestly feels about right. The rooms are well-appointed without being fancy – think clean lines, decent Wi-Fi (crucial for staying connected), and bathrooms that actually have proper water pressure. The staff knows the neighborhood inside and out, which comes in handy when you’re trying to figure out where to grab an authentic cacio e pepe that won’t cost you a fortune. One thing to keep in mind: parking around here is basically impossible, so if you’re driving, you’ll want to use one of the lots near the river and walk over. But really, once you’re settled in, you won’t need a car – the Pantheon is a five-minute stroll, and you can wander over to Campo de’ Fiori for the morning market without breaking a sweat. The area gets touristy during the day (it’s Rome, after all), but early mornings and late evenings have this lovely local rhythm where you’ll see Romans heading to work or meeting friends for aperitivo. There’s something pretty special about watching the city wake up from your window, coffee in hand, knowing you’re staying somewhere that feels both central and genuinely Roman.

Great location. The washing machine was a bonus even though there was no washing liquid.

What could be improved: Bird messThe location and the apartment itself make it a great stay. The long stairs are a problem. – Pablo from Peru – 6 April 2025 (9/10)
It’s a big apartment on a very good condition and great location. We liked the terrace very much. It’s big and has a great view.
What could be improved: Tha stairs. If you have a lot of luggage, like we had, it’s a real hustle although the administrator helped us on our arrival.Really good place, great view and calm neighbourhood. – Gabriela from Peru – 23 September 2024 (7/10)
Awesome view and comfortable, really good location.
What could be improved: So many stairs, but the problem was mostly with the bags, there’s no problem going up and down just ourselves but the bags were kinda noisy and difficult. If there were another system to get the bags up and down it would be easier and awesome. The best street in the old area of Roma. A fabulous restaurant right across the street – Peter from Canada – 22 October 2022 (9/10)
What could be improved: No elevator. 125 steps.
Fantastic rooftop terrace. Good value good location – Mariaelena from United States – 10 June 2025 (7/10)
Very easy check in . The rooftop terrace was specially nice. Good AC good water pressure in bathrooms.
What could be improved: There were 123 stairs to get to our apartment. Suitcases and all. Then on departure bringing them down. Along with the trash that we had to figure out where to leave.Very good – Adrian from Malta – 16 December 2024 (8/10)
The terrace
What could be improved: Over 90 steps no elevatorSolid stay in fantastic location with beautiful view – Helen from United States – 13 April 2024 (9/10)
The apartment was modern & spacious with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. There was an additional pull out couch in a sitting room off one of the bedrooms. You could fit 5-6 people. Each bedroom opens onto the balcony. Clean, modern bathrooms. One with very large shower. After staying at the usual European apartments for a few days, the modern bathrooms were a huge plus for me. The location was perfect. Right in the center in a tiny piazza with fountain with shops and restaurants outside. Pizza next door open late. Wine bar and nice restaurant across the plaza. Convenience store 1 minute away. Piazza Navona was a 3 minute walk away. Easy walk to Pantheon and Trevi Fountain. Beautiful balcony with an awesome view of the rooftops and church’s in the area. A bit pricey but if 2 couples split the cost it’s reasonable. Would def stay again. Liked that the apartment was clean and modern but building and balcony was old Italian.
What could be improved: The kitchen was new and modern but they didn’t even have drinking glasses which I thought was pretty odd lol They had a few small ceramic cups? Also I didn’t see any plates? Strange. It didn’t matter to us because we ate out but it might matter to someone else. So don’t plan on cooking here. Also I couldn’t figure out how to use the AC and there were no instructions. Def ask about that if you’re going in warmer weather. We didn’t need it in April. Lots of stairs. Ok for most people but if you have a mobility issue and are elderly the stairs will be difficult.Great top floor appartment with a view – Torgrim from Norway – 3 September 2024 (10/10)
This apartment was super modern with roof top terrace with a splendid view over Rome’s skyline. The little piazza Simone by the front door is like a scenery from a movie by Federico Fellini. The host was very kind and professional. We would definitely like to come back.
What could be improved: Be prepared for a lot of steps up the the appartment.Exceptional – Ryan from Canada – 30 July 2024 (10/10)
We loved the central location, all sites are an easy 10-20 min walk. The A/C was a welcomed relief after wandering the streets in the heat.
The property was clean with no issues with smells from the bathrooms, as reported from other comments.
The view is overlooking rooftops which is very picturesque.
What could be improved: There is no lift to the penthouse, so anyone with issues climbing stairs may find the climb daunting.
