Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about this place? The address says Via della Vetrina, which honestly sounds like some random side street, but you’re literally a two-minute walk from the chaos of Piazza Navona. I mean, we’re talking about one of Rome’s most insane tourist magnets here, yet somehow when you duck into this building, it’s like stepping into a different world entirely.

The apartment itself has that whole “historic luxury” thing going on, and they’re not kidding around with the historic part. The ceilings are ridiculously high – like, crane-your-neck-back high – and there’s this gorgeous stonework that you can tell has been there for centuries. The furnishings actually complement the old bones of the place instead of fighting against them, which is something a lot of these Roman conversions get wrong. What I really appreciated was how they managed to squeeze in modern amenities without making it feel like some corporate hotel suite. The kitchen is fully equipped (rare for the center of Rome), and honestly, after a few days of restaurant prices, you’ll want to grab some groceries from the little market on Via dei Cappuccini.

Here’s the thing about the location that most people don’t realize until they’re there – yes, you’re close to everything, but Via della Vetrina is just off the main pedestrian flow, so you’re not dealing with the constant stream of tour groups that plague the streets closer to the Pantheon. You can actually sleep at night, which is saying something for this neighborhood. The building entrance is one of those classic Roman affairs – looks like nothing from the street, but once you’re inside, you get it. Fair warning though: there’s no elevator, so if you’re on the upper floors with heavy luggage, well… consider it your daily workout. The 8.2 rating makes sense to me – it’s genuinely lovely and the location is unbeatable, but it’s not going to coddle you with hotel services. You’re basically living like a Roman for a few days, which is exactly what some people want and exactly what others don’t expect.

Reviews

  • very cute apartment with good location! – Kaitlyn from United States – 29 June 2025 (9/10)

very cute apartment and a great location to explore all the best of rome! it was spacious and lots of spots to sleep. host was always quick to reply and helpful

What could be improved: the stairs are a bit steep to navigate with suitcases. the washing machine was broken/ did not spin. only 1 of the beds was made upon arrival, but we were able to make the others ourselves with some sheets from the cabinet.

  • Exceptional – Paulina from Poland – 11 August 2024 (10/10)

Perfect localization and very nice & helpful host!

  • Great stay with great service. – Daniel from Sweden – 19 November 2024 (10/10)

Great area to live in; close to everything but still quiet during the night. Excellent service with luggage storage, taxi reservation and tips regarding sightseeing and restaurants. We will come back.

What could be improved: It looked bigger on the pictures from Booking and might be some difficulties getting up to the second flor if you are older. It is an old place that would need some renovation but still a very nice place to spend a weekend in.

  • Bad – Stefan from South Africa – 19 December 2024 (1/10)

What could be improved: There were a few things we wanted to mention:
    – The floor tiles are loose and broken, which will soon cause someone to cut their feet.
    – There is something wrong with the front door lock.
    – No microwave.
    – Very noisy.
    – Generally not worth the rating of 8+

  • The place to be – Pierre from Belgium – 23 October 2024 (9/10)

Emplacement, accueil, contacts, volume, literie, …. Facilité de dépose des valises dans coffres à 100 m

What could be improved: La baignoire un peu vétuste, les prix à Rome pas tristes

  • Very good – Grazia from Italy – 21 June 2025 (8/10)

Casa molto accogliente, dorata di tutto ciò che poteva servire

What could be improved: Ingresso e scala a chiocciola tenuta malissimo

  • Very good – Simone from Italy – 2 June 2025 (8/10)

    La posizione e l'accoglienza

What could be improved: C'era un po' di polvere

  • Top Wohnung und Service in top Lage – Dirk from Germany – 15 April 2025 (9/10)

Escada caracol ruim. – Cristina from Brazil – 19 October 2024 (7/10)

A localização da acomodação é excelente.

What could be improved: Escada de dois lances tipo caracol, difícil para quem tem malas.
Chuveiro na banheira escorregadia com risco de queda.

  • Good – Edgar from Mexico – 19 September 2024 (7/10)

    …..

What could be improved: Lo dificil del acceso tanto en la calle como en el departamento
